Join us in building the future of construction automation and be part of a team that’s shaping the next generation of robotics.

About the Role
We’re hiring a Sales Engineer to join our Sales team and serve as a technical leader across the customer lifecycle, from pre-sales demos and technical discovery through deployments, training, adoption, and expansion support.
You’ll partner closely with Sales, Customer Success, Operations and Engineering to help customers successfully adopt Civ Robotics in real-world construction environments. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving hands-on technical challenges, building trust with customers, and driving outcomes that directly impact revenue and retention.
This is an in-office role in San Francisco with regular travel to customer job sites.

What You’ll DoPre-Sales / Technical Selling
  • Lead technical discovery to understand customer workflows, constraints, and success criteria.
  • Run compelling product demos (office + on-site) and communicate value in a practical, customer-specific way.
  • Partner with Sales on evaluations, pilots, proposals, and technical validation to support closing and expansion.
  • Serve as a trusted technical advisor to stakeholders across operations, site leadership, technical teams, and executives.
Deployment, Training, and Customer Success Enablement
  • Support deployments and onboarding: train customer teams on robot operation, best practices, and basic maintenance.
  • Provide hands-on troubleshooting for robotic/electrical systems and hardware/software integration issues.
  • Document customer interactions, common issues, and repeatable solutions; contribute to playbooks and training materials.
  • Monitor adoption signals (usage, friction points, operator feedback) and proactively address risks.
Expansion & Strategic Support
  • Partner with Sales / Customer Success on renewals, upsells, and long-term account health.
  • Join QBRs and customer check-ins as the technical voice: outcomes, ROI, roadmap alignment, and next steps.
  • Gather field feedback and share insights with Product/Engineering to drive continuous improvement.
  • Help drive customer advocacy: references, case studies, and site visits.

What We’re Looking ForMinimum Qualifications / Must-Haves
  • 3+ years in a Sales Engineer / Solutions Engineer / Field Engineer / Technical Account / Robotics Field Ops type role (or similar customer-facing technical role).
  • Hands-on experience with hardware + software systems (robotics, IoT, industrial automation, construction tech, etc.).
  • Strong troubleshooting instincts and comfort working on-site in messy real-world environments.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to translate technical details into business outcomes.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally (Sales, CS, Product, Engineering) and thrive in a fast-moving startup.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites as needed (typically ~30–35%).
  • Ability to work in-office in San Francisco.
Preferred / Nice-to-Haves
  • Experience in construction, solar, civil engineering, surveying, or adjacent infrastructure workflows.
  • Familiarity with GNSS/GPS, RTK, total stations, or construction layout processes.
  • Experience running pilots / evaluations and supporting procurement or vendor selection processes.
  • Comfort working with metrics and customer health signals (adoption, retention risk, ROI).

What You’ll Get
  • A high-impact role in a fast-growing robotics startup.
  • Opportunity to shape customer experience and influence product roadmap through field feedback.
  • Competitive salary + performance-based incentives.
  • Equity / stock options.
  • Health, dental, and vision benefits.
