As a Sales Engineer, you will be one of the most important members of the Dataminr sales team, serving as a trusted advisor to Account Executives, the Product team and our current and future customers across the US and Canada.A security-focused technical liaison and subject matter expert on all things Dataminr, you will get to develop and share compelling stories that will excite your customers and have them eager to hear more.
This role can be based anywhere remote in the Northeast US. Preferred locations between Philadelphia and Boston.

The OpportunityTechnical Sales & Solution Leadership
- Lead the technical sales process, guiding customers through architecture discussions, evaluations, and technical decision-making.
- Translate customer security challenges and operational requirements into solution designs that deliver measurable outcomes.
- Deliver tailored demonstrations, workshops, and Proof of Value (POV)/Proof of Concept (POC) engagements that showcase real-world use cases and business impact.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in:
- Security Operations (SOC)
- Threat Intelligence and Threat Hunting
- Incident Response
- Security Automation and Orchestration (SOAR)
- Risk Analysis and Quantification
- Advise customers on modernizing security operations through intelligence-driven workflows, automation, and operational best practices.
- Lead technical discussions around emerging threats, adversary tradecraft, and evolving security operations strategies.
- Design and demonstrate integrated cybersecurity solutions leveraging SIEM, SOAR, TIP, EDR/XDR, vulnerability management, and cloud security platforms.
- Build and customize integrations, workflows, and automations using APIs, Python, and other scripting technologies.
- Provide technical guidance on platform architecture, implementation strategies, and integration with existing security ecosystems.
- Maintain deep knowledge of competitive technologies and industry trends to effectively position solutions and advise customers on their security transformation initiatives.
What You Bring
- 7+ years of cybersecurity experience with expertise in one or more of the following areas: Security Operations (SOC), Threat Intelligence, Incident Response, Threat Hunting, or Security Automation and Orchestration.
- 3+ years in a Sales Engineering, Solutions Engineering, or customer-facing technical consulting role.
- Strong knowledge of threat intelligence methodologies, the MITRE ATT&CK framework, adversary TTPs, incident response, and risk management practices.
- Hands-on experience with security technologies, including SIEM, SOAR, EDR/XDR, Threat Intelligence Platforms (TIP), vulnerability management, and cloud security solutions.
- Experience building integrations and automations using Python, Java, APIs, or similar technologies.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage both technical practitioners and executive stakeholders.
- Certifications such as CISSP, CEH, OSCP, and SANS, a plus

The annual base salary range for this position is $106,800 - $157,500. You will also be eligible to receive a discretionary bonus and Company equity.
