About Melita

Melita is an HR, Benefits, and Payroll outsourcing company, serving and building lasting relationships with small and mid-sized employers in the U.S. and abroad. We were founded over 30 years ago on a simple principle: to help our clients succeed by innovating, serving, and supporting their Human Resources, Employee Benefits, and Payroll needs. As a results-driven organization, we hold ourselves accountable for our promises and we celebrate the successes of our clients. As we scale, we are investing heavily in Salesforce, automation, and AI to raise the bar on what an HR outsourcing partner can deliver.

Position Summary

Salesforce is Melita's system of record and the platform our entire service model runs on. It is where client work is tracked, where our teams plan their day in MyWorkspace, and where our Event Checklist case engine, Onboarding Wizard, and client-facing MyMelita portal all live. The Salesforce Administrator keeps that platform healthy, secure, and continuously improving, and is a driving force behind how we extend it with automation and AI.

This is a hands-on role for someone who knows the Salesforce platform deeply and is excited to work in a heavily customized, fast-moving org. You will own the day-to-day administration, partner with our developer on larger build work, and help lead our adoption of Agentforce, CData Connect AI, and automation that removes manual effort across the business. If you want real ownership of a platform that genuinely matters to the company, this role may be a great fit for you.

Reporting and Scope
  • Reports to: Director of HR Systems
  • Location: Remote
  • Scope: Administration, configuration, automation, and AI enablement of Melita's internal Salesforce org and connected systems
  • Key partners: The HR Systems and development team, Service Delivery, Implementations, and the Melita teams across every function who rely on Salesforce every day

Core Responsibilities

    Platform Administration and Security
  • Own day-to-day administration: users, roles, profiles, permission sets, sharing rules, and login and access troubleshooting.
  • Maintain data quality and integrity, including deduplication, validation rules, and routine data audits and cleanup.
  • Manage sandboxes, change sets or deployment pipelines, and releases, and keep org documentation current.
  • Monitor and apply Salesforce seasonal releases, assessing impact on our customizations before they reach production.
  • Configuration and Automation
  • Build and maintain declarative automation: Flows, validation rules, page layouts, Lightning pages, record types, reports, and dashboards.
  • Translate requests from across the business into well-designed solutions, choosing the right tool for the job and keeping the org simple where possible.
  • Partner with our developer on Apex-heavy and integration work, reading and debugging existing Apex, Flows, and invocable actions in a highly customized org, and testing changes thoroughly.
  • AI and Automation Enablement
  • Support and extend our current Claude AI integration which works with live Salesforce data, and help maintain the connected-system setup our automations depend on.
  • Help lead Melita's adoption strategy for the SalesForce native AI tools like Agentforce and Einstein.
  • Support, Training, and Partnership
  • Act as the first point of contact for Salesforce questions and issues, resolving them quickly and clearly.
  • Build strong relationships across the Melita teams, understand how they actually work, and turn that into platform improvements they feel.
  • Create training materials and enablement so Melitians get the most out of Salesforce, including MyWorkspace and the case engine.

Qualifications

    Required Qualifications
  • 3 or more years of hands-on Salesforce administration experience, with a Salesforce Administrator certification.
  • Deep command of declarative tools: Flows, permission sets, validation rules, record types, reports, and dashboards.
  • Experience administering a complex, heavily customized org, and comfort reading and debugging existing Apex and automations.
  • Strong data management skills, with a high attention to detail and a bias toward data integrity.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, and the ability to translate business needs into platform solutions.
  • A self-starter who takes ownership, thrives on complexity, and follows through.
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Additional Salesforce credentials (Advanced Administrator, Platform App Builder, or Agentforce or AI-related certifications).
  • Hands-on experience with Claude AI or other LLMs as well as experience with Agentforce, Einstein, or other AI features on the Salesforce platform.
  • Experience with integrations and middleware (for example CData, APIs, or ETL tools) and with deployment and version-control practices.
  • Experience in an HR, benefits, payroll, or professional-services environment.

What Success Looks Like

  • The org is secure, clean, well-documented, and reliable, and issues are resolved before they slow the business down.
  • Requests become thoughtful, maintainable solutions rather than one-off patches, and the teams trust the platform.
  • AI and automation measurably reduce manual effort, and Melita keeps raising what Salesforce does for the business.
