Job Title: SAP Ariba Quality Engineer

We are looking for a knowledgeable, hands-on, and highly independent SAP Ariba Quality Engineer to join our team. This role requires a QA professional with both strong product knowledge and automation experience across SAP Ariba procurement applications and SAP S/4HANA procurement processes.
The ideal candidate is someone who can quickly understand business processes, navigate complex SAP procurement solutions, and independently manage end-to-end testing even when documentation is limited, evolving, or incomplete. This person should be comfortable figuring out how the system works, identifying gaps, building test coverage, and driving quality across functional and technical areas.
This is not a purely script-execution role. We are looking for a Quality Engineer who understands the product, thinks critically, asks the right questions, and can validate business workflows across sourcing, buying, invoicing, supplier management, and integrations. Strong test automation skills are also required to help build scalable and reusable test coverage.
Responsibilities
• Own and manage end-to-end testing for SAP Ariba and SAP S/4HANA procurement-related solutions.
• Analyze product behavior, business workflows, and system changes to define test coverage even when formal documentation is limited.
• Independently identify test scenarios, edge cases, dependencies, and integration impacts across upstream and downstream procurement processes.
• Develop, execute, and maintain manual and automated test cases for functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing.
• Design and enhance a reusable test automation framework / approach for SAP Ariba and related procurement applications.
• Validate procurement business processes across areas such as requisitioning, sourcing, contracts, supplier lifecycle, buying, catalogs, invoicing, and supplier collaboration.
• Work closely with product, functional, development, and support teams to understand requirements, clarify expected behavior, and ensure quality coverage.
• Identify, document, track, and follow up on defects, bugs, and quality issues through resolution.
• Support test planning, release validation, regression cycles, production readiness, and post-release verification.
• Regularly revisit and update test strategy and test cases to reflect new product functionality and process changes.
• Contribute to root cause analysis, issue triage, and resolution of application-related problems.
• Support integration and workflow validation across SAP Ariba, SAP S/4HANA, and related connected systems.
• Work as part of an agile / DevOps team and help drive quality from both a product and operational perspective.
• Mentor team members on QA best practices, product-based testing approaches, and automation techniques where needed.

Requirements

Required Qualifications
• 5+ years of experience in QA, test automation, or quality engineering.
• 3+ years of experience with SAP Ariba applications, preferably across both upstream and downstream procurement areas.
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA procurement or related procure-to-pay / source-to-pay processes.
• Strong product and functional understanding of procurement workflows, including one or more of the following:
• SAP Ariba Sourcing
• SAP Ariba Contracts
• SAP Ariba Supplier Lifecycle and Performance
• SAP Ariba Buying
• SAP Ariba Buying and Invoicing
• SAP Ariba Catalog
• SAP Ariba Invoice Management
• SAP Ariba Contract Invoicing
• SAP Ariba Supplier Risk
• SAP Ariba Source-to-Contract Suite
• SAP Ariba Strategic Procurement
• Proven ability to work independently, learn systems quickly, and define testing approaches with minimal documentation or direction.
• Strong experience creating test plans, test scenarios, test cases, and automation scripts.
• Hands-on experience with automation tools such as Playwright with Java or JavaScript.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to investigate unclear behavior and determine expected outcomes.
• Experience with defect management, regression testing, and end-to-end validation.
• Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills.

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with SAP Business Network and related procurement collaboration capabilities.
• Familiarity with Cloud Integration Gateway (CIG) and integration touchpoints between SAP Ariba and SAP S/4HANA.
• Experience building, maintaining, and enhancing CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, and DevOps toolchains.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS; Azure and/or GCP experience is a plus.
• Experience in agile DevOps environments.
• Experience supporting continuity of business, operational readiness, and production support.
• Ability to lead testing efforts and guide others toward effective quality solutions.

What We Are Looking For
We are looking for a Quality Engineer who is not only technically strong, but also has the product knowledge, curiosity, and independence to figure things out without relying on perfect documentation. The right candidate will understand how procurement solutions should work, identify what needs to be tested, and drive quality across the full business process.

The ideal person will combine:
• functional understanding of SAP procurement products
• hands-on test automation capability
