The SAP FSM Functional Lead owns the implementation and evolution of maintenance and configuration management solutions for software-defined vehicles using SAP FSM. This role partners closely with engineering and operations to manage vehicle genealogy, firmware and software representation within BOMs, and asset configuration across the full product lifecycle. The ideal candidate brings strong domain expertise in FSM-driven business processes, leads complex system implementations, and ensures high-quality documentation, standards, and operational readiness.
In This Role, You Will...
- Solution Ownership: Own the functional design, configuration, and validation of the SAP FSM solution, identifying gaps and driving scalable end-to-end solutions.
- Delivery & Governance: Ensure disciplined execution through clear scope, design, testing, cutover, and project documentation, while tracking and driving issue resolution to closure.
- Leadership & Collaboration: Serve as functional lead for vendor implementations, partnering with internal teams to deliver custom integrations between Fleet Orchestration platforms and SAP.
- Communication & Enablement: Communicate clearly across stakeholders, facilitate user training, and demonstrate strong written and verbal ownership of deliverables.
Qualifications
- Background: BS/MS in Engineering or equivalent practical experience, with 8+ years leading SAP FSM implementations for complex hardware-software products in automotive (SDV/autonomous), aerospace, or related industries.
- Technical Depth: Deep hands-on expertise in SAP FSM, including ECU-centric assets, complex BOMs, product genealogy, and serialized/batch-managed inventory and equipment hierarchies.
- Systems & Execution: Experience driving end-to-end delivery—requirements, solution design, EAM integrations (middleware/custom APIs), functional specifications, UAT, and production cutover—using Agile or Waterfall methodologies.
- Ownership & Influence: Proven ability to partner cross-functionally, communicate clearly, drive scalable process improvements, and operate effectively in fast-moving, high-growth environments.
Bonus Qualifications
- SAP Expertise: Combined hands-on experience across SAP EAM, FSM, and Master Data Management, including Equipment BOMs, Manufacturing BOMs, and Task Lists.
- Product Structure & Compliance: Experience validating actual vs. allowed product structures (iPPE/PDN), managing part supersession and interchangeability.
- Maintenance Modeling: Strong knowledge of hierarchical task lists supporting complex maintenance programs.
- Integration: Proven experience integrating SAP EAM with EWM, PP, and QM.
