SMX is seeking a Senior S/4HANA SAP ABAP Developer to support an SAP S/4HANA Greenfield implementation project for a large government contract. As a Senior Developer, you will be involved in every stage of the application lifecycle, from design to deployment. This role is remote supporting a Washington, DC based customer and requires a Public Trust clearance.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for converting user requirements into technical design specifications and developing ABAP solutions aligned with those designs. You may also lead or guide other developers in maintainable development practices and during code reviews.
This project operates in a fast-paced and dynamic environment that leverages Agile/Scrum methodologies to quickly build solutions based on customer requirements. You are encouraged to learn new technologies and recommend improvements to business processes. You will be successful in this role through strong technical skills, proactive problem solving, quick learning, and excellent communication with our clients.
• Due to contract requirements, this position requires U.S. citizenship and the successful completion of a background check prior to onboarding. Candidates must also be able to obtain and maintain a DHS EOD/Public Trust clearance.
• 6+ years of SAP ABAP development and overall SAP experience.
• Experience with S/4HANA.
• Hands-on experience integrating backend SAP and non SAP applications.
• Hands-on experience with SAP ABAP development and HANA CDS Views.
Required Skills & Experience:
• Implementation experience with SAP Fiori and SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP).
• Proficiency in working with web services, proxies, and APIs for system integration.
• Extensive technical expertise and hands-on experience with a wide range of ABAP technologies, including Reports, RFCs, Forms, Object-Oriented ABAP (OOP), BAPIs, Enhancements, BADIs, User Exits, Customer Exits, and Data Conversions (BDC, LSMW, IDocs, ALE, and Workflows).
• Strong debugging and performance tuning skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non technical audiences.
• Ability to analyze problems and provide clear recommendations.
• Public Trust clearance.
Desired Skills & Experience
Desired qualifications:
• Experience with the ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP).
• Certifications in Application Development, SAP BTP, or Agile methodologies.
