POSITION SUMMARY
While employing the highest level of customer service the scheduling associate I is responsible for contacting all assigned reminder calls to patients the day prior to scheduled appointment; validating understanding of prep instructions, resolving any questions, validating financial obligations, and resolving any last minute issues ensuring the patient will not experience any day of service delays. Is responsible for the external orders received via fax ensuring timely review and input into electronic medical record system, communicates to ordering provider any issues as necessary. Responsible for supporting the processing of electronic request for diagnostic services in a timely manner communicating with patients and providers as needed to ensure appropriateness of order meets carriers’ and radiologists guidelines.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Licensure/Certification:
High School Graduate or equivalent required
Intermediate ability with Microsoft Office Products and basic computer skills required
Knowledge:
Basic medical terminology required, or course completion within first year.
Intermediate ability with Microsoft Office Products and basic computer skills required
Type 30 CWPM
Skills:
Superior customer service, oral, written, and listening skills in dealing with patients, physicians’ office staff, co-workers, and payers.
Must possess good organizational skills and flexibility.
Demonstrates willingness to assist co-workers during periods of peak workloads and short staffing.
Works as a team player. Ability to work under pressure and stay within time constraints.
