Cellanome is adding a Scientist 1 to our growing team. Reporting into the Associate Director of Applications, your role will be pivotal in assuring the successful execution of our experimental plans, carrying projects from initial concept through lab work, and to the final analysis of results. Balancing wet lab work, results interpretation, project management and team coordination, your efforts will drive a seamless scientific process.    

Essential duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Accountable for delivering against experimental plans, from ideation and experimental scoping, through lab work and troubleshooting, to final analysis and interpretation of results, in close coordination with colleagues in RTD, Comp Bio and beyond.  
  • Act as the primary scientific liaison for partners, ensuring effective communication and coordination.  
  • Design and execute experiments, independently or in collaboration with partner researchers, that contribute to the scientific objectives of the projects.  
  • Develop project plans, timelines, and deliverables to ensure effective and efficient execution against our research plan.  
  • Monitor project progress, anticipate and mitigate potential challenges and propose solutions to ensure timely completion of objectives.  
  • Coordinate resources to facilitate the successful completion of projects.  
  • Partner with internal computational biology team and external partners to analyze and interpret experimental data, providing insights and recommendations.  
  • Prepare scientific reports, presentations, and high-impact publications to effectively communicate project outcomes and findings.  
  • Contribute to intellectual property (IP) strategies by identifying and documenting novel discoveries.  
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. for approximately 10% of typical working day.   
  • Ability to work in front of a computer screen and/or perform typing for approximately 90% of a typical working day. 
  • Ability to grasp with both hands; pinch with thumb and forefinger; turn with hand/arm; reach above shoulder height. 
  • Ability to comply with personal protective equipment requirements. 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • PhD in a relevant area of cell biology (such as immunology, stem cell research, cell therapy, aging, or functional genomics).  
  • Hands-on experience in conducting wet lab work and troubleshooting experiments as well as communicating scientific findings. 
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional, collaborative, high-growth environment with a can-do attitude and attention to detail. 
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without reasonable accommodations. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Deep familiarity with cell work (e.g., primary cells, iPSCs, cell lines, culturing, analysis). 
  • Expertise in immunology, cell and gene therapy, and/or immuno-oncology.
  • Experience with microscopy, flow cytometry, functional genomics, and single-cell mRNA sequencing technologies.
  • Experience analyzing large datasets using R, Python, and/or other programming languages.
  • Experience driving scientific collaborations and partnerships within academia and industry that culminated in achievement of high impact results. 
  • Experience as an end-user of related instrumentation.

The estimated base salary range for this position is $110,000 - $130,000/year. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
