We are seeking a Technical Accounting Manager, SEC Reporting to help build the foundation for external reporting, technical accounting, and financial transparency. This role will work closely with executive leadership, external auditors, and legal counsel to ensure Harbinger meets the highest standards of financial reporting and compliance.

What You’ll Do

  • Assist in drafting Form S-1, including financial statements, MD&A, and disclosures
  • Build scalable SEC reporting processes, calendars, and controls
  • Partner with legal, investor relations, and external advisors 

Own External Financial Reporting

  • Prepare and review SEC filings, including:
    • Form 10-K
    • Form 10-Q
    • 8-K
    • Earnings releases and investor materials
  • Ensure financial statements comply with U.S. GAAP and SEC disclosure requirements
  • Coordinate the preparation of footnotes, technical accounting memos, and disclosure checklists

Partner with Auditors & Advisors

  • Serve as a primary contact for external auditors and technical accounting advisors
  • Support quarterly reviews and annual audits
  • Assist with complex accounting areas and disclosure matters

Technical Accounting & Policy Development

  • Research and document technical accounting issues
  • Draft accounting memos related to new or complex transactions
  • Assist in implementing accounting standards and SEC reporting policies

Strengthen Internal Controls

  • Support development of SOX-ready processes and documentation
  • Assist with establishing internal controls over financial reporting
  • Collaborate with accounting and finance teams to improve reporting workflows

What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • 5–8+ years of experience in accounting or financial reporting
  • Big Four public accounting experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with SEC reporting and public company filings
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC disclosure requirements
  • Experience preparing or reviewing 10-K and 10-Q filings

Highly Preferred

  • Experience supporting or participating in an IPO process
  • Experience with S-1 preparation
  • Experience working with high-growth companies or public company readiness
  • Experience with financial reporting systems

California Pay Range
$140,000$180,000 USD
