  • Design, pilot, and implement logging and alerting systems to detect malicious activity on Snap Inc.'s endpoints, infrastructure, networks, and cloud environments (AWS/GCP).

  • Investigate events generated by the alerting pipeline, triage potential incidents, and drive response efforts.

  • Build tools and devise automation strategies in Python and/or Go to improve Snap Inc.’s ability to hunt threats and respond to intrusions.

  • Conduct security reviews for new features and technologies, including the secure enablement of AI tools and features.

  • Partner with IT and other engineering teams to architect and manage identity and access management (IAM) and SSO integrations.

  • Identify, analyze, fingerprint, and build threat intelligence on trends and developments in adversary tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs).

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of operating system internals, with core competency in two or more of the following: macOS, Windows, Linux, Kubernetes, Amazon Web Services, and Google Cloud Platform.

  • Proven experience in one or more security areas: digital forensics, malware analysis, incident management, host/network intrusion detection, threat intelligence, or endpoint security.

  • Strong development skills in Python and/or Go.

  • Ability to conduct design reviews and provide actionable mitigation guidance to reduce risk.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with high attention to detail and a record of collaborating with stakeholders at all levels.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent years of experience in a related technical field

  • 1+ years of experience in the field of corporate or enterprise security, or other similar security engineering role

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Background evaluating and securely enabling emerging technologies, including AI tools and features, with a focus on upholding access control boundaries and data protection requirements

  • Familiarity with securing lab, IoT, and ancillary systems, including applying hardening standards, monitoring, and access controls across heterogeneous environments

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with high attention to detail

  • Work record of collaborating with internal and external stakeholders at all levels of a company
