Cadence is the clinical AI company automating the treatment of chronic disease. Its Clinical Intelligence takes on the routine, high-volume work of chronic care – monitoring patients, surfacing risks, and coordinating action – so clinicians can focus on the decisions that require them. Grounded in partnerships with more than 20 leading health systems, deep EMR integrations, dedicated medical group, and experience serving a population of more than 100,000 patients, the system learns from real-world care delivery, improving as it scales. Cadence has been recognized by TIME as one of the Top 100 HealthTech Companies and by LinkedIn as a Top Startup (#4, 2025).

The Role

We're hiring an Infrastructure Engineer to build and scale the security infrastructure that embeds compliance and risk controls directly into the Cadence platform. You'll solve complex security challenges spanning cloud infrastructure, AI governance, GRC automation, and secure integrations with healthcare partners and external systems. Embedded directly within Product and Platform Engineering teams, you’ll design and implement critical security capabilities, and partner with our CISO and senior leaders across Product, Engineering, Clinical, and Legal to set direction for how Cadence builds responsibly at scale.

What You'll Do
  • Design and implement security controls across cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, CI/CD systems, endpoints, identity systems, secrets management, and broader platform security primitives
  • Build and evolve Cadence's AI governance framework - model development controls, safeguards, bias and reliability considerations, and post-deployment surveillance - to keep our AI systems safe, fair, and aligned with patient safety outcomes
  • Translate complex security risk into clear, business-level recommendations for technical and non-technical stakeholders alike, surfacing patterns and emerging threats before they become incidents
  • Help define Cadence's AI governance framework, including model development controls, safeguards, bias and reliability considerations, and post-deployment surveillance. Ensuring Cadence's AI systems are safe, fair, and aligned with patient safety outcomes at scale.
  • Set the standard for secure engineering practices across Cadence. Designing scalable security primitives, golden paths, and reusable controls that enable product and platform teams to build securely by default, and anticipating where gaps will emerge as the platform grows.
  • Help set and defend prioritization across security infrastructure workstreams, in partnership with engineering leadership
What You Need
  • 4+ years of software engineering experience with at least 2+ years focused on security infrastructure, platform security, or security engineering in a high-growth or regulated technology environment.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong ability to navigate and reason across the stack - quickly understanding unfamiliar codebases, architectures, and tooling ecosystems.
  • Ability to identify patterns and design scalable “golden paths” (e.g., logging, access controls, network security) that work across teams.
  • Expertise across cloud security, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipeline security, identity and access management, secrets management, and security primitives at scale.
  • Strong AI governance experience or knowledge, including familiarity with model risk, dataset controls, bias considerations, and responsible AI frameworks in regulated or patient-facing environments.
  • Ability to set prioritization across security workstreams and provide input on prioritization for other engineering teams
Compensation

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The base salary for this role typically ranges between $150,000 - $250,000, depending on experience, skills, seniority, and business needs. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for equity as part of the total compensation package. Actual compensation may vary by location.
