Description

Looking for a Big4 Senior Accountant or Manager to join our team and lead all internal accounting activities. Cyberhill is a rapidly growing AI firm led by a serial entrepreneur and former KPMG partner. Capital raise is expected to close in Q1 2026. Financial Reporting & Accounting Operations

  • Manage full-cycle accounting, including general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, and month-end close.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Maintain and improve the company’s chart of accounts, accounting policies, and internal controls.
  • Oversee revenue recognition for AI service contracts, subscriptions, and project-based work (ASC 606).
  • Monitor cash flow, expenses, accruals, and capitalization of software development costs.

Compliance, Audit & Tax

  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, state and federal reporting requirements, and company financial policies.
  • Oversee tax filings, including annual federal/state returns, sales tax nexus compliance, and 1099 filings.
  • Assist with State Employee Tax filings to ensure they are compliant in the 20 states we operate in.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors; prepare audit-ready documentation.
  • Implement controls for SOC 2, government contracts, and/or grant reporting (if applicable).

Budgeting, Forecasting & Strategy

  • Develop and manage annual budgets, forecasting models, and variance analysis.
  • Provide financial insights to leadership on burn rate, runway, pricing, margins, and hiring plans.
  • Support strategic decision-making for new service offerings, product launches, and market expansion.

Systems & Process Improvement

  • Implement and optimize accounting tools in coordination with our outside accounting firm and our management team.
  • Design scalable financial workflows for a fast-growing organization.
  • Integrate finance processes with operational systems such as CRM, billing, and project management platforms.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with the CEO, CTO, and operations team on financial planning and operational alignment.
  • Assist sales and delivery teams with project costing, SOW financial modeling, and contract structuring.
  • Support HR with payroll, compensation structure, and benefits administration.

Required Skills/Experience

  • Active CPA license.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably with time in public accounting.
  • Experience in technology, SaaS, AI, consulting, or professional services industries.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, revenue recognition (ASC 606), and financial statement preparation.
  • Proficiency with accounting systems (QuickBooks, NetSuite, Xero, or similar).
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and project-management skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a startup or high-growth environment with minimal supervision.

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Experience supporting venture-backed startups or early-stage companies.
  • Familiarity with government contracting, FAR compliance, or grant accounting (a plus).
  • Experience with AI, software development costing, or subscription billing models.
  • Strong financial modeling and Excel/Sheets skills.
  • Ability to implement or optimize financial systems.
