Position Details:

Located in Houston, Texas and reporting to the Supervisor of Revenue Accounting.  Main responsibility of this position is integral to the month-end close cycle and will be responsible for booking revenue, posting journal entries, processing accruals, and reconciling assigned accounts for specific properties.  In addition, this position will assist in preparing year-end work papers and documentation and ensuring compliance with appropriate regulations, policies, and internal control safeguards. Other responsibilities of this role will include assisting with special projects, research, and revenue inquiries. The Senior Revenue Accountant will also prepare specific reports and analysis as requested and under the direction of management. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Accurately record monthly revenue, royalty, and transportation costs for assigned properties. 

  • Prepare, examine, or analyze accounting records, financial statements, or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards. 

  • Prepare reconciliations and variance analysis for property activities. 

  • Special projects include research, analysis and creating associated support and schedules. 

  • Cooperate with other departments in providing information as required or requested. 

  • Confirm and maintain royalty ownership decks with Land Department 

  • Research and respond to revenue inquiries. 

  • Document processes and procedures for revenue and royalty accounting 

  • Perform other duties as directed by supervisor. 

Qualifications

 
Qualifications Minimum Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting or a closely related field  

  • At least three to five years’ experience as a Revenue Accountant with an E&P company  

  • Oil and Gas experience is required.  

  • Strong MS Excel skills a must 

 
Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience using Enertia or W Energy.
