About the Role

Global Gourmet is an industry leader and innovator in events – Catering with a Twist.  We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our finance team. This role is critical in ensuring accurate financial reporting, improving processes, and supporting strategic financial decisions. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, has strong analytical skills, and brings hands-on expertise in accounting, reconciliations, and process improvement.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Month-End Close: Lead the month-end close process, including journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • General Ledger Management: Review GL details to ensure consistency with company policies and best practices.
  • Sales Tax Compliance: Prepare reporting to support monthly/quarterly sales tax filings.
  • Process Improvement & System Implementation: Support the Controller with process enhancements, system upgrades, and data migrations.
  • Data Support:  aggregating payroll, purchasing and event cost data.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Support data tracking and reporting for budgets and forecasts.
  • Banking & Cash Management: Act as a backup approver for positive pay exceptions, ACH transactions, and wire transfers.

 

Qualifications & Experience

  • Must Have Accounting Experience:
    • Accounting degree or Business Major with concentration on accounting, or in progress.
    • Minimum 6 years of accounting work experience, with at least 3 years in a Senior Accountant or similar role
    • Job costing
    • Inventory
    • Payroll – posting and analysis of complex labor allocations
  • Industry Experience: Experience in the restaurant or hospitality industry is highly preferred.
  • Technology Proficiency: Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, large data sets) and proficiency with Google Suite.
  • Systems Experience: Experience with QuickBooks Online, Paycom, and Ottimate preferred
  • Process Improvement Expertise: Experience leading or participating in system conversions and process improvement projects
  • Adaptability: Comfortable working in a dynamic environment and navigating change
  • Work Ethic: Hands-on, highly responsive, and customer-service oriented
