The future of aerospace and defense starts here.

Ursa Major was founded to revolutionize how America and its allies access and apply high-performance propulsion, from hypersonics to solid rocket motors, satellite maneuvering and launch. We design and deliver propulsion and defense systems that solve the most urgent and critical national security demands.

As Ursa Major continues to grow, we’re looking for a Facilities Electrician to support our expanding operations. This role is essential in ensuring the safety, functionality, and efficiency of our facilities—an environment that reflects our commitment to excellence.

We need a highly skilled, certified, hands-on electrician who shows up every day, rain or shine, with a "challenge accepted" mindset for every tough task. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, high-demand environment and takes pride in hard work. If you’re passionate about aerospace, problem-solving, and making a tangible impact, we want you on our team.

In this role, you will be responsible for critical infrastructure upkeep, ensuring optimal performance of electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and structural systems that support our manufacturing and testing operations. You will also manage contractors and external vendors for specialized projects that exceed the scope of internal resources. If you’re ready to be part of something big and take ownership of your work, apply today and help shape the future of Ursa Major.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and components, including running new circuits, installing transformers (480 V to 208 V), and wiring power to 3D printers, CNC machines, and test equipment.
  • Install electrical disconnects, run conduit, pull wire, and land circuits in accordance with NEC and facility standards.
  • Maintain and update electrical as-builts, service records, and asset data in Ursa Major’s work order system.
  • Monitor facility power usage and perform load calculations to ensure safe, efficient operation.
  • Determine load requirements and redistribute loads across panels as needed.
  • Execute preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical systems to maximize uptime.
  • Conduct root cause analyses of electrical failures and drive corrective actions.
  • Ensure full compliance with OSHA, NFPA, NEC, and local building codes.
  • Provide mentorship and hands-on training to Facilities Technicians.
  • Support facility expansion, capital improvement, and infrastructure upgrade projects.
  • Respond to critical system issues including power failures, equipment malfunctions, and environmental control disruptions.

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Licensed Journeyman Electrician with at least 4 years of experience (6+ preferred).
  • Proven expertise in electrical power distribution, transformer installation, and industrial wiring.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, execute, and complete electrical projects independently.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a focus on root cause resolution.
  • Excellent documentation and organizational habits.
  • Outstanding work ethic and reliability—a self-starter who takes ownership of every task.

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • Master Electricians are encouraged to apply, provided they are eager to perform hands-on work in addition to project oversight.
  • Experience in aerospace, manufacturing, or industrial environments.
  • Familiarity with PLC-controlled systems, automation, and industrial power distribution.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and CAD layouts.
  • Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS) and energy efficiency strategies.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and digital work order systems.

Additional Information:

  • This is an hourly position reporting to the Facilities Manager.
  • Work environment includes office spaces, manufacturing areas, test facilities, and outdoor operations.
  • This position requires full-time, on-site presence; remote work is not an option.
