Here at Malwarebytes, we believe that when you’re free from threats, you’re free to thrive. It all started in 2008 with one person who needed help with a malware infection, and a community coming together to find solutions. In that moment in time a product was born for all people, with a mission to rid the world of malware. Our product has since grown and evolved, from removing malware, to protecting devices, to ever-changing prevention.

About Malwarebytes Inc.

Malwarebytes began after our founder, Marcin Kleczynski, accidentally infected his parents’ computer while downloading a video game as a teenager. At the time, there was no product that could fully solve the problem, so he set out to build one. That early experience shaped our mission: to create protection that works when people need it most.
Since then, the digital threat landscape has only grown more complex. Attackers are faster, stealthier, and more sophisticated, while traditional solutions often overwhelm people with complicated tools and settings. At Malwarebytes, we believe protection should be both powerful and refreshingly simple because if security feels too hard to use, people will not use it. That is why our aspiration is always to stay one step ahead: cutting through the noise, stopping threats others miss, and delivering peace of mind in an unpredictable digital world.

Malwarebytes is looking for..

A Senior Android Engineer who takes ownership of the full end to end feature development.
You don't just write code - you build products - from working closely with the designers and refining requirements with PMs, to scoping, estimating, and shipping features customers actually love. You know how to ask the right questions early, spot the gaps before they become blockers, and make trade-offs that balance speed with quality. You're fluent in Kotlin and Jetpack Compose, but what sets you apart is how you think. Product-first, customer-obsessed, and keen on building our product with the best practices of engineering
Annual Compensation Range: The expected salary range for this role is €70,000–€85,000 per year. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.

What You Will Do:

  • Build and ship end-to-end Android features for Malwarebytes' mobile security product
  • Collaborate with product managers and designers to translate requirements into scalable, high-quality Android solutions
  • Design and debug complex mobile systems using deep knowledge of Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Coroutines, and Flows
  • Own features from scoping to release — driving delivery with a product and project mindset
  • Ensure performance and compatibility across a wide range of Android versions and device types, including low-end hardware
  • Lead system design discussions, clearly articulating technical trade-offs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Evaluate new tools, libraries, and platform updates — bringing what matters back to the team
  • Champion quality through code reviews, testing practices, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Introduce and apply AI-driven approaches to accelerate and optimise the development process

Skills You'll Need to Have:

  • Solid experience in Android development for product based companies
  • Proficiency in Kotlin, Coroutines, and Flows
  • Solid experience with Jetpack Compose
  • Strong system design skills with the ability to clearly explain your approach
  • Deep knowledge of Android versions and how to handle device fragmentation
  • Highly self-motivated with a track record of delivering results
  • Experience building software in an Agile/Scrum environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working in cybersecurity industry is a bonus
  • Test Automation experience is a big plus

Salary Range: Up to 85K EUR annually, depending on your experience, technical depth, and interview performance.

Perks & Benefits:

  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage
  • Employee Referral Bonus Program
  • Wellness programs
  • Comprehensive Time Off policy
  • An opportunity to do something great for yourself and the world!

(Benefits and Perks subject to change by country/region)
