About The Role:

Build CrowdStrike's hyper-scale data lake that stops breaches and finds threats. We centralize all Falcon platform data, enabling analytics, machine learning, and threat hunting at petabyte scale. You'll architect and operate our big data ecosystem (Kubernetes, Flink, Kafka, Spark, MinIO, HDFS, Trino, Hive, Pinot, Ray) across AWS, GCP, OCI and on-premises data centers, and lead development of state-of-the-art Flink/Spark/Ray platforms on Kubernetes.

NYC Metro Residents (incl. Commutable locations in New Jersey) - There is presently no NY office open but there will be in (estimated) 18-24 months. During the intervening period, your work will be entirely remote. Once an office is opened in Manhattan, you'll be expected to have some face-time in office an average of 2 days (no more than 3, max) per week.

What You'll Do:

  • Build and manage large-scale distributed data processing systems Own Flink/Spark infrastructure on Kubernetes/AWS/GPS/OCI

  • Ensure availability, reliability, and security Solve complex distributed systems problems at scale

  • Design and own APIs, automation, and cluster health dashboards

  • Deploy DevOps tools: Kubernetes, Terraform, Chef, Ansible, CI/CD Enable engineers and data scientists to run jobs and extract insights

  • Work with query systems (Trino/Presto, Jupyter Notebooks).

What You'll Need:

  • Expert-level Spark and/or Flink with Kubernetes (open source committer preferred)

  • Strong Kubernetes/Docker experience Deep understanding of distributed systems (Iceberg, Pinot, Hive, Kafka)

  • Proficient in Java, Kotlin, Scala or Go

  • Experience with Kafka, AWS, Terraform, S3/MinIO or similar storage systems Proven success with distributed teams Strong communication skills.

Bonus Points:

  • Experience with real-time data streaming and event-driven architectures

  • Knowledge of data governance, compliance, and security best practices

  • Contributions to open-source projects (Spark, Flink, or related technologies)

  • Experience in cybersecurity or high-stakes production environments

  • Background in site reliability engineering or DevOps practices

  • Advanced degree in Computer Science or related field

CrowdStrike, Inc. is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. Placement within the pay range is dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications, job level, supervisory status, and location. The base salary range for this position for all U.S. candidates is $140,000 - $215,000 per year, with eligibility for bonuses, equity grants and a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance, 401k and paid time off.
