Moloco Commerce Media (MCM)
- enables marketplaces to leverage the recent advances in AI for delivering tailored ads to relevant users, driven by first-party data. MCM has established a strong product market with several leading marketplaces working with us to show relevant ads.
- We’ve established our MCM’s product market fit with strong interest in our product. MCM is an important product that is key to Moloco’s continued success and is in a high growth phase. The science team supports MCM's growth by supporting the launch of new features through modeling, algorithmic and analytical excellence. As a Senior Applied Scientist focused on ML in MCM, you will have the opportunity to work on and improve various components of our ad-tech stack including ranking, retrieval, auction/bidding and budget pacing. We highly value prior experience in working in ad-tech.
- Conduct deep-dive analysis to influence R&D decisions and strategies: analyze large datasets, extract valuable signals out of noise, and design state of the art machine learning models to optimize Moloco’s complex bidding system.
- Design and deploy advanced optimization approaches to improve our ad-delivery: identifying the best ranking, retrieval and bidding strategies that strike the right balance between ROI and revenue trade-offs.
- Leveraging the latest advances in deep learning to evaluate and improve our search quality.
- Build the right metrics for product areas and guide ramps with domain data expertise: improve performance monitoring of a large and complex ads ecosystem by establishing the right metric framework, and understanding cause-and-effect relationships across drivers; guiding ramp decisions through rigorous A/B testing.
- MS or Ph.D. degree in a quantitative discipline with exposure to advanced modeling and statistical techniques.
- 6+ years of work experience (industry or postgraduate) in data science related fields or an advanced degree such as Master’s or PhD in a quantitative discipline with 4+ years of experience.
- Experience with one or more programming languages including Python, Java or C++
- Past experience with ad-tech/ranking/retrieval and/or search quality is preferred.
- 4+ years of experience (industry or postgraduate) in Data Science, with a heavy focus on experimentation and causal inference in a high-growth tech environment (AdTech preferred).
- Demonstrated leadership and self-direction. Able to seek out new business questions and effectively scope projects to improve our ML model performance.
Compensation & Benefits
U.S.-based employees have access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, and well-being benefits and perks. U.S.-based employees also receive up to 12 scheduled paid holidays per calendar year and one Thrive Day off per quarter. Additionally, all employees have Flexible Time Off (FTO).
The successful candidate may be eligible for a bonus and equity awards. Eligibility and amounts are determined by performance and the terms of the applicable plans.
The location for this role is listed above. For base pay range purposes, location-based compensation is grouped into the following regions. Your region is determined by your assigned work location.
- Region A: Menlo Park Office, New York Office, SF Bay Area, New York Metro Area
- Region B: Seattle Office, Seattle, Los Angeles/Orange County, San Diego, Austin, Boston, Washington DC Metro Area, Miami
- Region C: All other U.S. locations
