Location & Work Model

This is a hybrid role, with an expectation of being in our SF office three days per week.

About the Team

EvenUp’s document products empower attorneys to represent their clients more effectively and secure better outcomes. With over $1.5B in damages claimed to date, the Document Generation team is developing an industry-leading, AI-native platform for generating legal documents in personal injury law.

Demand Letters, our flagship product, drives EvenUp’s rapid growth, enabling customers to achieve higher settlements and resolve cases faster—making it a critical part of the personal injury workflow.

Medical Chronologies, our newest and fastest-growing offering, delivers comprehensive overviews of medical treatment and injury impact, equipping attorneys with the insights needed for world-class pre-litigation and litigation support.

As a member of this team, you will collaborate across functions to design and implement solutions that enhance the speed, scalability, and quality of EvenUp’s document generation engine. We seek high-ownership self-starters deeply motivated by delivering end-user impact. Your work will directly advance EvenUp’s mission to ensure personal injury victims receive fair compensation.

Responsibilities
  • Enhance EvenUp’s AI-native and expert-review document generation workflows

  • Implement and integrate LLM-based solutions to improve customer outcomes

  • Build systems to evaluate efficacy, quality, and reliability of core customer deliverables

  • Contribute to the ongoing evolution of EvenUp’s document generation products at the forefront of applied AI

  • Partner with company leaders to execute mission-critical, high-impact initiatives

  • Uphold a high quality bar and apply data-driven insights to deliver exceptional customer experiences

What You’ll Do
  • Product Development for AI-Native Workflows: Contribute to end-to-end AI workflows; integrate traditional SaaS systems with AI applications; prototype new features balancing innovation with pragmatism.

  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with founders, product managers, and designers to brainstorm, scope, and deliver new product features.

  • Architecture & Engineering Excellence: Establish best practices for architecture, coding, and delivery. Build user-facing experiences, services, APIs, and systems.

  • Code Quality & Security: Ship secure, compliant, production-ready code for sensitive data; ensure quality via tests, reviews, and adherence to standards; monitor, debug, and optimize system performance.

  • Mentorship & Team Growth: Review code, mentor teammates, contribute to team culture, retrospectives, and ongoing improvement.

  • Operational Ownership: Participate in on-call rotations, resolve production issues, reduce operational toil, and document processes.

What We Look For
  • Extensive experience building frameworks, libraries, and distributed systems—reliability, observability, and performance focused

  • Strong software development background with hands-on expertise in Python or languages such as Go, Java, Node.js, or C++

  • Proven ability to deliver production-ready software, including RESTful APIs and infrastructure to industry standards

  • Track record of owning and delivering complex projects from concept through deployment

  • Experience in fast-paced, startup or high-growth environments

  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative working style

  • Strong sense of ownership, accountability, initiative, and creative problem-solving

  • Bonus: Experience with AI, legal tech, or social impact–driven products
