Design at Huckleberry
Huckleberry sits at the intersection of expertise and empathy. Our products need to feel credible enough to trust and approachable enough to use when parents are tired, busy, and looking for clear guidance.
Our brand is still early, which means there's a lot of room to shape where it goes next. We're beginning a brand refresh and redesigning our website, and we're looking for a designer who wants to help define the visual language.
About the Role
As Senior Brand Designer, you'll help define and evolve Huckleberry's visual identity and bring it to life across the business.
You'll work closely with the Creative Director and collaborate with partners across Marketing, Product, and Engineering to build a brand system that is distinctive, flexible, and useful in practice. Your work will show up everywhere from our website and campaigns to the App Store, paid media, lifecycle marketing, and the product itself.
This is a hands-on role with significant ownership. You'll contribute to the big-picture direction while also doing the work to make that direction real, from developing the brand system in Figma to designing individual campaigns and experiences.
Areas of Responsibility
Partner with Product, Marketing, and Engineering to create a cohesive Huckleberry brand experience across the app, App Store, huckleberry.com, campaigns, paid media, lifecycle, content, and other brand touchpoints.
Help maintain and expand a flexible brand system that scales with the needs of the business.
Collaborate with the Creative Director to define how Huckleberry's visual identity is expressed across experiences and channels.
Act as a champion for the brand, helping establish a consistent and distinctive point of view across the organization.
Partner with Product Design to bring the brand into the product experience, not just the marketing around it.
Brief and collaborate with external partners across illustration, motion, video, and agency engagements to execute high-quality work.
Design through iteration, experimentation, audience insights, and performance data to understand what resonates with families.
Ensure consistency across marketing channels while identifying opportunities to evolve and expand the capabilities of our visual system.
Be an active participant in design at Huckleberry, providing thoughtful feedback across Marketing, Product, and Design teams.
Requirements
Minimum of 8 years of experience in visual design, in-house or in an agency setting.
Strong understanding of the formal elements of graphic design, including typography, color, layout, composition, and visual hierarchy.
A creative focus on visual design applied across surfaces such as web, mobile product, digital campaigns, video, and print.
A passion for branding, demonstrated through a portfolio of strong work across a variety of contexts, with a focus on brand systems.
Experience working with motion designers to conceptualize and build motion as part of a broader brand system. Individual motion experience is a plus.
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with designers and non-designers alike.
A curiosity to stay current with evolving design tools and techniques, balanced with a desire to develop an original, opinionated visual point of view.
A track record of collaborating with design, marketing, and business partners to translate project needs, audience insights, and constraints into thoughtful design decisions.
An ability to balance multiple projects, independently prioritize work based on project objectives and business goals, and thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
A proactive, self-directed work style and the ability to operate independently on a small team.
Thoughtful, collaborative, and high-quality in your approach to the work.
