Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute your go-to-market strategy from day one—immediately activate your network to establish momentum and build a robust pipeline of shipper and carrier partnerships with no ramp-up period
  • Drive account growth from day one by securing 2 to 6 new shipper accounts in your first month while simultaneously expanding existing relationships through strategic account management, identifying new freight lanes, and uncovering cross-sell opportunities
  • Scale accounts rapidly to move 100 to 150 monthly loads within your first 60 days, with full authority to optimize carrier capacity utilization and determine load volume targets that drive immediate organizational impact
  • Develop and execute freight brokerage strategies immediately, leveraging your deep market insights, carrier capacity trends, and shipper demand patterns to make rapid, independent decisions that deliver results from week one
  • Craft compelling rate proposals and freight solutions that showcase value and competitive advantages—negotiate terms immediately that protect margins while building long-term partnerships without delay
  • Collaborate seamlessly with operations, dispatch, and compliance teams from day one to ensure flawless load execution, on-time delivery, and exceptional service quality that strengthens customer relationships and competitive positioning
  • Lead freight rate negotiations, service level agreements, and carrier contract development with immediate decision-making authority, balancing strong partnerships with profitability objectives in real-time
  • Drive continuous improvement by analyzing key performance indicators including load volume, freight margins, customer acquisition costs, and revenue outcomes—using data to inform rapid strategic decisions and demonstrate measurable impact within your first 90 days

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of direct freight brokerage experience with proven success in sourcing, qualifying, and closing new shipper and carrier partnerships—demonstrating ability to operate independently with minimal oversight
  • Established, active professional network of shippers and carriers that you can immediately activate to generate new business pipeline momentum from day one
  • Documented track record of consistently acquiring 2-6 new shipper accounts monthly with independent decision-making authority and measurable new revenue generation
  • Demonstrated expertise in freight rate negotiation, load pricing, and carrier contract development with full autonomy to execute deals and close partnerships rapidly
  • Deep knowledge of freight market dynamics, carrier capacity trends, lane economics, and regional shipper demand patterns—with ability to make rapid, independent strategic decisions to win new business
  • Proficiency with Transportation Management Systems (TMS), load boards, CRM platforms, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong analytical capabilities with experience interpreting freight metrics and customer acquisition costs to drive self-directed prospecting and closing strategies
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills with ability to articulate freight solutions to new prospects and negotiate independently to close deals
  • Aggressive, entrepreneurial mindset with proven ability to drive measurable new revenue results through relentless prospecting and deal closure without requiring management direction

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Extensive personal network within freight brokerage industry (shippers, carriers, logistics partners) that demonstrates relationship capital and market connectivity for new business development
  • Track record of exceeding new account acquisition quotas or revenue targets in competitive freight brokerage environments
  • Familiarity with freight compliance requirements, DOT regulations, and industry best practices
