Our client is a key player in providing tech solutions and support to drive growth & productivity within the agribusiness sector.

 

Your role as a Senior Business & Partnership Manager:

You will be responsible for driving the organisation’s growth by identifying, developing, and managing strategic partnerships and business opportunities across local and global markets. You will leverage market intelligence, consultative sales, and relationship management to increase market share, support digital commodity initiatives, and meet business goals.

 Key Responsibilities 

 

  • Support business development processes by participating in the preparation of concept notes, proposals, marketing materials, etc.
  • Identify new business opportunities and stay abreast with key market trends and intelligence to formulate sales strategies to capitalise on growing the business
  • Establish and develop relationships with key contacts in potential organisations to foster partnerships and business development opportunities.
  • Identify and understand customer needs and develop actionable plans to address them effectively.
  • Conduct consultative sales and account management for the new and existing partner base
  • Generate sales leads, actively engage and manage a growing pipeline of potential partners, including agribusinesses, global traders, manufacturers, cooperatives, NGOs, and government institutions and build strategic relationships with them based on needs and alignment with the organisation’s mission and business goals.
  • Assess and convert leads with sales potential from the Marketing and Communications team
  • Expand the organisation’s presence in Africa and Europe by identifying and engaging partners in the digital commodities, agribusiness, and trading sectors.
  • Prepare proposals and conduct professional presentations to prospective and existing customers and partners
  • Research and identify new business opportunities - including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, partnerships, products and services - or new ways of reaching existing markets
  • Carry out sales forecasts and analysis, and present your findings to senior management/the board of directors
  • Research and attend relevant seminars, conferences and events to expand network and boost sales potential 
  • Leverage knowledge, experience and network in local and global market space to negotiate prices and secure deals from local and international businesses.
  • Develop a deep understanding of organisational operations, advise and support teams and partners in achieving sales targets and business objectives.


Requirements

Requirements

  • A Master’s/ Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Agriculture, International Development, Economics, or other relevant fields
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in business development, partnerships, or sales, preferably within agriculture, agri-tech, commodities, or development sectors.
  • Strong understanding of agricultural value chains and market dynamics across Africa.
  • Knowledge of sustainability, compliance, and financial inclusion models within agricultural ecosystems is an advantage.
  • Excellent negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Must be analytical and detail-oriented.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and CRM tools.
