At MECCA, we believe beauty should spark joy for our customers, our brand partners, and our people. In Marketing, we bring that joy to life every day through bold ideas, unforgettable storytelling and category-defining campaigns.

This year is one of our most exciting yet. We’re going deeper into artistry, defining distinctive category points of view and welcoming incredible new global brands. You’ll be right in the middle of it, helping us shape what category marketing looks like at MECCA.

The Role You Could Play

As our Senior Category Marketing Manager, you’ll be the custodian of your category for marketing - bringing together customer insight, trade performance and brand strategy to make the calls that matter. Reporting into the Head of Category Marketing, you’ll partner with the Head of Category on category strategy, and work as a direct peer to Senior Brand Managers to bring that strategy to life across brand plans and standout campaigns that feel unmistakably MECCA for our ANZ customers.

Day-to-day responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Playing a key role in shaping and delivering MECCA’s category strategies, partnering with our Heads of Category to bring clear, consistent and customer-led frameworks to life across the marketing team.

  • Acting as custodian for the category, keeping a close eye on customer and trade performance and using that lens to guide trade-offs. Partnering closely with Senior Brand Managers and Brand Managers to translate category strategy into brand-level plans, sharing performance insight and category point of view while drawing on their brand expertise to sharpen the strategy in return.

  • Leading the planning and execution of brand and category campaigns. Acting as the marketing partner for a portfolio of global brands, translating their global direction through a uniquely MECCA lens, and working closely with Creative Direction, Content, Digital, Design, PR, CRM and Visual Merchandising to create seamless, high-impact moments across every touchpoint.

  • Driving operational excellence by embedding strong workflows, processes and planning rhythms, bringing clarity and momentum to a fast-moving environment with many moving parts.

  • Leading and develop a talented team, offering coaching, direction and the “birds-eye view” to help them deliver their best work, while building strong relationships with internal stakeholders from Brands & Buying, as well as external brand partners to ensure alignment, advocacy and category leadership across the business.

What You Will Bring

You’re a strategic, people-focused marketer who loves the sweet spot where creativity meets commercial impact.

  • 7+ years’ experience in brand, category or retail marketing, ideally in beauty, lifestyle or multi-brand environments.

  • A track record of delivering multi-channel campaigns that drive both brand love and commercial results.

  • Experience leading or coaching a team and a genuine passion for developing others.

  • Strong stakeholder management skills and confidence working with senior leaders and global partners.

  • A love of structure and process, you enjoy turning complexity into clear plans.

  • A customer-obsessed mindset and a deep appreciation for brand, storytelling and creativity.

  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment where no two days look the same.
