Are you a relationship-driven insurance professional with deep commercial lines expertise and a passion for helping businesses protect what matters most? Leavitt United Insurance Services, a Leavitt Group affiliate, is seeking a skilled Senior Commercial Lines Account Manager to join our growing team.

This is an opportunity to serve as a trusted advisor to clients while partnering closely with producers, carriers, and internal teams to deliver exceptional service, support business growth, and drive client retention. The ideal candidate combines strong technical insurance knowledge with a consultative approach to account management and commercial marketing. This position is available out of any one of our locations, or remotely within California, for the right candidate.

What You'll Do

As a Senior Commercial Lines Account Manager, you will be responsible for managing and servicing a book of commercial business, supporting producers with new and renewal opportunities, and ensuring clients receive a high-touch service experience.

Account Management & Client Service
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned commercial clients, responding to inquiries regarding coverage, policy changes, endorsements, billing, and claims support.

  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication and risk management guidance.

  • Review client exposures and business operations to identify coverage gaps, recommend solutions, and support account retention.

  • Manage the renewal process from start to finish, including gathering updated underwriting information, reviewing loss history, and preparing renewal strategies.

  • Independently service assigned accounts, including those not directly supported by a producer.

  • Support clients with claims-related concerns and coordinate with carriers to facilitate resolution.

  • Ensure all accounts remain compliant and protected from lapses in coverage, minimizing agency E&O exposure.

Marketing & New Business Support
  • Collaborate with producers on new business and renewal marketing initiatives.

  • Prepare complete and accurate insurance applications and submissions for carrier review.

  • Identify and negotiate with appropriate insurance markets to obtain competitive coverage solutions for clients.

  • Follow up with carriers for quotations and underwriting requirements.

  • Review and compare quotes to ensure accuracy, competitiveness, and alignment with client needs.

  • Develop and present proposals and coverage recommendations to producers and clients.

  • Assist with binding coverage, policy issuance, and obtaining required client documentation.

Policy Administration
  • Prepare and process certificates of insurance, endorsements, binders, policy changes, audits, and related documentation.

  • Review policies and endorsements for accuracy and completeness.

  • Order and review loss runs, update schedules, and maintain policy records.

  • Maintain accurate client information, policy data, and documentation within AMS360.

  • Coordinate agency billing, carrier payables, invoicing, and premium collection activities.

  • Work closely with Account Assistants and service teams to ensure timely completion of administrative tasks.

Business Development & Retention
  • Support agency growth initiatives through cross-selling and identifying additional coverage opportunities for existing clients.

  • Assist in developing new business opportunities through referrals and client relationships.

  • Maintain a high level of account retention and profitability.

  • Stay informed on industry trends, market conditions, carrier appetite, and emerging commercial insurance products.

  • Partner with producers and agency leadership to achieve revenue, retention, and client satisfaction goals.

Team Collaboration
  • Meet regularly with producers to review account activity, renewal strategies, and client opportunities.

  • Collaborate with Commercial Lines leadership and internal departments to ensure exceptional service delivery.

  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members and assist with training as needed.

  • Provide backup support for fellow Account Managers when necessary.

QualificationsRequired
  • Active Property & Casualty Insurance License.in California

  • 5-10 years of commercial insurance experience, including account management and client service.

  • Strong experience working with contractor and construction accounts.

  • Thorough knowledge of commercial insurance coverages, underwriting, marketing, and agency operations.

  • Experience managing renewals, policy servicing, and carrier relationships.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and client service excellence.

Preferred
  • Experience with AMS360.

  • Experience with carrier rating platforms and agency management systems.

  • Bilingual Spanish.

  • Professional insurance designations such as CISR, CIC, CRM, or CPCU.
