We are seeking a full-time Senior Copywriter, Consumer with substantial pharmaceutical promotional agency experience and a portfolio that includes strong consumer social content. The successful candidate must be able to create engaging, platform-appropriate social work—from individual posts and paid social to short-form video concepts and larger content programs—while navigating the requirements of regulated pharmaceutical marketing.

This is an integrated consumer promotional writing role, not a social-only position. The Senior Copywriter will also develop campaign concepts and copy across traditional, digital, web, email, video, and other consumer-facing brand communications. The ideal candidate combines strong conceptual ability, polished writing craft, an understanding of consumer behavior, and the judgment to make complex clinical information clear, relevant, and compliant.

Job Summary

The Senior Copywriter, Consumer will concept and write strategically grounded promotional work for pharmaceutical brands across channels. You will collaborate with art directors, designers, strategists, account teams, and medical/legal/regulatory partners to create clear, persuasive, and visually integrated communications from initial concept through final approval.

Social fluency is essential: you should understand how content behaves differently across platforms, how to write in a brand voice that feels natural in-feed, and how to adapt ideas for organic and paid social formats. At the same time, you should be equally comfortable developing broader campaign copy, including brand messaging, advertising, websites, email, video, and other consumer touchpoints.

Job Responsibilities and Skills

  • Develop consumer-facing pharmaceutical copy across integrated campaigns, including social, print, digital, web, email, video, and paid media.
  • Create social-first concepts and copy for organic and paid social, including captions, post copy, carousels, short-form video scripts, motion copy, content-series ideas, and platform-specific variations.
  • Develop campaign concepts, headlines, body copy, brand messaging, website copy, email, video scripts, and other promotional communications.
  • Partner with art directors and designers to build integrated creative ideas that are effective across social, digital, and traditional channels.
  • Translate brand strategy, clinical information, and approved claims into clear, motivating, consumer-friendly messaging.
  • Adapt messaging by channel, placement, audience, and phase of the consumer journey while preserving a consistent brand voice.
  • Conduct research and work from approved source materials to ensure accuracy, relevance, and appropriate claims support.
  • Write, edit, and proofread work with close attention to clarity, consistency, fair balance, references, and brand guidelines.
  • Work through medical, legal, and regulatory review, incorporating feedback while protecting the integrity of the creative idea.
  • Participate in concepting, internal creative reviews, client presentations, and campaign-planning discussions.
  • Manage multiple assignments and deadlines in a fast-paced agency environment.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, communications, marketing, or a related discipline—or equivalent professional experience.
  • 8+ years of copywriting experience, including significant experience at a pharmaceutical promotional or healthcare advertising agency.
  • Consumer pharmaceutical promotional experience is required.
  • Demonstrated experience creating social content for pharmaceutical or healthcare brands is required.
  • Portfolio must include consumer social content samples, alongside broader integrated promotional campaign work.
  • Strong understanding of pharmaceutical promotional regulations and medical/legal/regulatory review processes.
  • Experience with annotations and Veeva submission workflows is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent writing, editing, proofreading, and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to make complex clinical and scientific information accessible without compromising accuracy or compliance.
  • Strong conceptual ability, exceptional attention to detail, and comfort collaborating within an agency team.
  • Portfolio requirement: Applicants must provide a portfolio featuring consumer pharmaceutical promotional work, including clear examples of social content for pharmaceuticals and integrated campaign execution.
