National Community Renaissance (National CORE) is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Corporate Accountant to support the organization’s corporate accounting and financial reporting functions. This role is an integral part of the Accounting team and will contribute to the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial information across multiple corporate entities.

The Senior Corporate Accountant reports to the Accounting Manager or Assistant Accounting Manager and collaborates closely with senior leadership, including the AVP of Accounting and Controller. This position also provides guidance on complex accounting matters and supports key initiatives, reflecting a mid-level leadership presence within the department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes for corporate entities
  • Ensure all financial transactions are recorded in accordance with established policies, procedures, and accounting standards
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial reporting packages
  • Maintain oversight of cash management activities, including monitoring, reporting, and reconciliation of all corporate bank accounts
  • Review and interpret loan agreements, regulatory requirements, and compliance obligations, ensuring adherence to deadlines and covenants
  • Prepare audit schedules and support internal and external audit processes
  • Manage and reconcile intercompany transactions, allocations, and shared cost distributions
  • Monitor lines of credit and corporate credit card transactions
  • Produce required financial analyses, reports, and billings for internal leadership and external stakeholders
  • Research and resolve accounting issues, ensuring timely communication and resolution
  • Support consolidation processes, including monthly and quarterly schedules
  • Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and reporting accuracy
  • Participate in cross-functional initiatives and lead special projects as assigned
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience)
  • Minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in general ledger accounting and financial reporting
  • Demonstrated experience with multi-entity accounting, intercompany transactions, and allocations
  • Strong understanding of bank reconciliations, financial controls, and compliance reporting
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS Office applications
  • Experience with Yardi or similar accounting systems preferred
  • Real estate or affordable housing accounting experience is highly desirable
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently while contributing as a collaborative team member

Work Environment & Additional Information
  • This is a primarily sedentary, office-based position requiring regular use of standard office equipment
  • Occasional participation in company-sponsored events, which may include limited travel or overnight stays
  • FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
