Gap Inc. is looking for an experienced employment lawyer to join our Legal organization, reporting to the Vice President, Deputy General Counsel, Employment Law.
You will:
- Proactively identify and assess potential legal and/or reputational risk in support of business partners and recommend practical, creative solutions that balance legal risk with business impact.
- Provide advice and guidance on a variety of employment law matters, including leaves of absence, accommodations, performance management, talent acquisition (including restrictive covenants), pay transparency and organizational restructures.
- Monitor legislation, regulations, case law and government enforcement activities relating to relevant employment law areas, and provide proactive, strategic advice within the employment law group and to relevant business partners.
- Support and collaborate with cross-functional business partners on complex legal matters and special projects to drive and sustain employment law compliance and further the long-term interests of the Company.
Who You Are
- JD Required; Licensed to practice law in the US
- Minimum 6 years of experience focused on employment law
- Proven track record of success partnering with business leaders and providing strategic guidance
- Practical mindset with ability to balance legal risk with business impact
- Able to cut through complexity to distill the most important issues
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to negotiate and build consensus across multiple stakeholders and functions
- Able to work independently and cross functionally in a fast-paced environment
