The Senior CRO Designer will design and optimize paywalls and funnels, lead conversion projects, create educational content, and champion best practices in monetization UX while collaborating with various teams to enhance customer experiences.
The summary above was generated by AI

RevenueCat removes the headaches of building and scaling in‑app subscriptions. Since graduating from YC’s S18 batch we’ve grown into the default monetization platform for mobile: we’re in >40% of newly shipped subscription apps, we process $10B+ in annual purchase volume, and we help everyone from a solo dev in Brazil to the OpenAI mobile team understand and grow their revenue.

We’re a remote‑first crew of 100+, guided by values we actually practice: Customer Obsession, Always Be Shipping, Own It, and Balance. If you want your work to touch hundreds of millions of end‑users (and help the developers behind them get paid), you’ll fit right in.

About the team

You’ll be the first member of a small, cross‑functional group of app monetization subject matter experts who partner directly with RevenueCat customers and prospects. As part of the broader Customer Growth org, this team designs and implements high‑impact paywalls, onboarding flows, and purchase funnels using RevenueCat’s no‑code builders and experimentation tools, then feeds learnings back into our product, templates, and educational content

You’ll also collaborate closely with our content, marketing, and advocacy teams to turn real‑world project outcomes into templates, case studies, webinars, and best‑practice guides for the broader app community

About the role

As Senior CRO Designer, Paywalls & Funnels, you’ll be the person RevenueCat customers trust when the question is: “How do we get more users to convert and stay subscribed?”

You will:

  • Design & build high‑converting paywalls and funnels

    • Use RevenueCat’s paywall and experiment builders to design, configure, and ship paywalls, onboarding flows, upgrade paths, and win‑back experiences for mobile apps across categories

    • Translate brands and product value props into clear, compelling paywall layouts, messaging, and pricing presentations

  • Lead conversion optimization projects for customers and prospects

    • Run structured discovery with customers and prospects to understand their business model, audience, and constraints

    • Propose experiment plans (e.g., value prop framing, pricing presentation, trial vs. no‑trial, placement and timing of paywalls)

    • Partner with apps to launch multivariate tests and interpret results, using RevenueCat’s analytics and experimentation tooling

  • Codify patterns into reusable assets

    • Distill what’s working across projects into reusable templates, checklists, and patterns that can be implemented directly in RevenueCat’s builders

    • Work with Product to inform our paywall components, presets, and default templates

  • Create educational content with Advocacy & Marketing

    • Collaborate with Growth Advocacy and Content teams to turn your project learnings into:

      • Example paywalls and funnel templates

      • Blog posts, guides, and best‑practice documentation

      • Webinars, live reviews, and conference talks or workshops

    • Participate in public‑facing sessions (e.g., teardown streams, office hours) as a visible expert on monetization UX

  • Champion monetization UX best practices

    • Advise Sales, Customer Success, and Support on paywall and funnel best practices they can bring into customer conversations

    • Provide feedback to Product & Engineering on how practitioners use our builders in the wild, highlighting opportunities for new features, components, and workflows

About you

You’re a conversion‑focused designer who lives at the intersection of mobile product design, growth, and experimentation. You have a track record of shipping real paywalls and funnels that move business metrics, not just portfolios

You have:

  • Deep hands‑on experience with paywalls & funnels

    • 5–8+ years designing consumer mobile experiences, with a substantial portion spent on subscription or purchase flows (e.g., paywalls, onboarding, upgrade/upsell, win‑back, account limits)

    • Experience either:

      • At a mobile app studio / product team owning monetization UX, or

      • At an agency/consultancy repeatedly designing and optimizing paywalls and funnels for multiple apps

  • Strong conversion & experimentation mindset

    • Comfort defining hypotheses, success metrics, and test plans (e.g., CVR, trial start rate, activation, LTV)

    • Experience using analytics and experimentation tools to interpret results and iterate quickly

    • Ability to balance conversion gains with long‑term user trust and platform guidelines

  • Mobile‑first product design skills

    • Excellent interaction and visual design chops for small screens and high‑stakes surfaces (like paywalls and purchase flows)

    • Strong UX writing instincts for concise, value‑focused copy and pricing messaging

    • Proficiency in modern design tools (e.g. Figma) and comfort translating designs into no‑code builder configurations

  • Customer‑facing communication skills

    • Confidence leading workshops, design reviews, and strategy sessions with customers and prospects

    • Ability to present options, pros/cons, and trade‑offs to both designers and non‑design stakeholders (founders, PMs, marketers)

    • Great written communication for async collaboration in a remote team

  • Values & ways of working

    • You’re energized by our mission to help developers make more money

    • You work iteratively and ship value quickly rather than waiting for perfection

    • You have an ownership mentality: You see broken or unclear experiences and feel compelled to improve them

    • You’re comfortable working in a fully remote, distributed team and collaborating across time zones

In your first month, you’ll:

  • Learn RevenueCat’s products, especially paywalls, experiments, and analytics

  • Join customer calls to understand our process and common challenges

  • Audit a handful of existing customer paywalls and funnels and build your first recommendations

Within 3 months, you’ll:

  • Own several customer projects end‑to‑end, from discovery through experiment analysis

  • Ship multiple paywall and funnel variations using RevenueCat’s builders

  • Partner with Advocacy/Content on at least one public asset (template, blog post, teardown, or webinar segment)

Within 6 months, you’ll:

  • Be the go‑to expert internally for monetization UX, paywall patterns, and funnel optimization

  • Maintain and evolve an internal “playbook” of best practices and tested patterns

  • Influence the roadmap for our paywall and experiment tooling based on patterns you see across customers

Within 12 months, you’ll:

  • Have materially improved conversion for a portfolio of customer apps, with clear before/after stories

  • Help define our strategy for paywall templates and monetization UX guidance at scale

  • Represent RevenueCat in public‑facing educational content (webinars, AMAs, workshops, or conference talks) as a leading voice on mobile monetization UX

What we offer:
  • Competitive equity in a fast-growing, Series C startup backed by top-tier investors, including Y Combinator

  • 10-year window to exercise vested equity options

  • Fully remote and flexible work environment

  • 4-5 weeks of suggested time off annually for mental, physical, and emotional recharge

  • $2,000 USD for workspace setup and $1,000 USD annual stipend for continuous learning
