The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated Customer Quality Engineer to join our quality team. In this role, you will act as the primary interface between Halo Industries and our customers regarding quality performance. You will be responsible for driving quality improvements, overseeing the customer RMA lifecycle, and ensuring our manufacturing processes meet the rigorous standards of our automotive and non-automotive partners. This is a key opportunity to shape our customer quality strategy as we scale into high-volume manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Customer Feedback & Quality Improvement: Drive continuous quality improvements by leveraging customer feedback on both production and qualification materials.
  • Audits & Compliance: Schedule and host customer audits, particularly for automotive customers. Oversee the integrity of Certificates of Analysis (COA) and ensure ongoing compliance with Customer Specific Requirements (CSRs).
  • Change Management: Oversee and provide guidance for Product Change Notifications (PCNs) and Product Change Information Note (PCIs), managing them through to customer approval.
  • Manufacturing Readiness: Implement and oversee processes required to assess and improve Manufacturing Readiness maturity, including internal Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) requirements.
  • Customer RMA Management: Oversee the end-to-end Customer RMA process, including logistics, root cause investigation, and documentation. Review RMA requests, initiate Halo Issue Resolution (HIR) processes, and ensure findings are communicated to internal teams and management.
  • Performance Reporting: Track customer-initiated nonconformance reports, communicate findings, and report on corrective actions to upper management.

Requirements

Basic Qualifications

  • B.S. in an Engineering discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in a quality engineering role, preferably in a high-volume semiconductor or automotive manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated experience with Quality Management System standards, specifically ISO9001 and IATF 16949.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Deep familiarity with standard quality tools, including MSAs, DOE, FMEAs, 5 Whys, 8D, and SPC.
  • Proficient with data analysis and statistical software (e.g., JMP, Minitab).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive continuous improvement.
