As a Senior Data Engineer at Phantom, you’ll help build and scale the foundation that powers analytics, experimentation, and decision-making across the company. You’ll work on complex onchain data problems that few companies in crypto can tackle — joining a lean, high-impact team that directly drives product growth and user trust.

You’ll collaborate with Data Science, Product, and Engineering to design scalable data systems that bring together blockchain data, product analytics, and marketing integrations — enabling the entire company to move faster and with confidence.

Our modern data stack includes Snowflake, dbt, Rudderstack, Airbyte, Python, SQL, Sigma, Metaplane, and Eppo.

• Onchain Data Engineering: Design and maintain robust pipelines that transform raw blockchain data (balances, transfers, bridges, PnL, token prices) into reliable, analytics-ready datasets.

• Data Modeling & Architecture: Build scalable, well-tested models in dbt to power product metrics, experimentation, and user segmentation (e.g. enriched user profiles, labels, user journeys).

• Data Quality & Observability: Implement monitoring, testing, and data quality frameworks that ensure data accuracy, freshness, and trust across all pipelines.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Product, Data Science, and Growth teams to deliver data solutions that unlock insights, experimentation, and targeting (Braze, AppsFlyer, etc).

• Infrastructure & Optimization: Drive performance improvements and cost efficiency across the data stack — from Snowflake query optimization to dbt project hygiene.

• Technical Leadership: Help define best practices for data engineering, mentor peers, and shape how Phantom scales its analytics foundation.

• 5+ years of experience building modern data pipelines and infrastructure in high-growth environments.

• Deep expertise in SQL, Python, Snowflake, and dbt.

• Proven experience designing and maintaining ETL/ELT workflows using tools like Airbyte, Rudderstack, or Fivetran.

• Strong background in data modeling, schema design, and observability frameworks.

• Experience working with onchain data (e.g. balances, transactions, token movements) — ideally within a blockchain, exchange, or web3 analytics environment.

• Ability to operate autonomously, set direction, and collaborate effectively across teams.

• Familiarity with crypto data ecosystems (RPCs, indexers, explorers, bridges, DEXs).

• Experience supporting A/B testing and experimentation infrastructure (e.g. Eppo, LaunchDarkly).

• Exposure to marketing and growth data pipelines (Braze, AppsFlyer, attribution).

• Prior work improving query performance, dbt refactoring, and data cost management.

• Comfortable in a lean, high-ownership environment with broad scope.
