Senior Data Engineer – JLL
What this job involves:
As a Senior Data Engineer at JLL, you will leverage advanced technical expertise and enterprise-focused thinking to drive AI-powered automation that achieves strategic business objectives. This role positions you as a technical leader who mentors team members, shapes business and regulatory requirements, and architects innovative data solutions that deliver measurable organizational value. You'll design cutting-edge automated frameworks, develop platform features with cross-functional alignment, and use compelling storytelling to build consensus across diverse stakeholder groups—all while significantly impacting JLL's Data Engineering strategy and the future of real estate technology.
What your day-to-day will look like:
Design and build advanced reusable and automated frameworks for enterprise-scale data processing and analytics
Architect comprehensive data solutions integrating multiple Azure services, AI capabilities, and cloud technologies aligned with strategic business goals
Lead complex technical problem-solving initiatives, root cause analysis, and strategic decision-making for critical data systems
Mentor junior and intermediate data engineers on advanced concepts, best practices, and emerging technologies
Collaborate with senior stakeholders to influence business requirements and align technical solutions with enterprise objectives
Develop AI-powered solutions and automation frameworks that drive measurable business outcomes
Champion data engineering best practices, standards, and innovation across the organization through thought leadership
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, or related quantitative discipline
5-8 years of experience in data engineering with proven track record of technical leadership and enterprise-scale solution delivery
Expert Python programming skills including inheritance, reflection, meta-programming, and advanced design patterns
Deep proficiency in Azure data services (Databricks, Azure Functions, Event Hubs) and cloud-native architecture
Advanced expertise in relational database design, star schema modeling, and data warehousing concepts
Proven experience implementing AI-powered solutions and automation frameworks at enterprise scale
Demonstrated experience mentoring engineers and influencing technical strategy with measurable impact
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related technical discipline
Expert knowledge of Apache Spark, PySpark, Kafka, and distributed computing concepts
Experience with microservices architecture and full-stack data solution development
Strong system design and architecture skills for complex, cross-functional data platforms
Track record of driving process improvement and technical innovation in enterprise environments
Advanced data visualization and storytelling skills for building stakeholder consensus
Experience leading strategic data engineering initiatives that shape organizational direction

This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
