ABOUT THE TEAM
At Basis, our Data Scientists are core contributors to the product. We design, develop, and deploy machine learning and generative AI systems that drive smarter media planning, real-time campaign optimization, and deep performance insights. In close partnership with product managers, engineers, and domain experts, we translate complex business challenges into scalable, data-driven features. Backed by Basis’ integrated platform and robust data infrastructure, the Data Science team delivers capabilities that help our customers outperform the competition.
WAYS YOU’LL CONTRIBUTE
As a Senior Data Scientist, you will apply expertise in statistics, machine learning, and generative AI to help advance our vision of building the most intelligent and automated media platform in the market. You are passionate about uncovering patterns in data and translating complex business problems into high-performing solutions in close collaboration with stakeholders across the organization. In this role, you will also contribute by:
- Developing deep expertise in our business domain, data assets, customer needs, and platform capabilities
- Proposing, evaluating, and delivering innovative machine learning and generative AI solutions that improve measurable customer outcomes
- Designing and executing full data science workflows, including data exploration, feature engineering, model development, and evaluation
- Driving incremental product improvements through A/B testing, launch analysis, and strong cross-functional collaboration
- Fostering excellence within the data science team through mentorship, constructive feedback, and leading by example
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE
- PhD, Master’s, or Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field ·
- 5+ years of experience in machine learning, statistics, or a related discipline
- 3+ years of hands-on experience developing models for production applications
- Proficient in Python or a similar programming language
- Proficient in SQL and distributed compute platforms, such as Spark
- Solid knowledge of or experience with large language models (LLMs) and/or generative AI tools
OUR TECH STACK
- We work with a modern and scalable stack that includes Python, PySpark ML, ONNX, Snowflake, Kafka, Airflow, and AWS (EMR, SQS). This foundation supports batch and real-time pipelines, large-scale model training, and high-performance inference.
