The Senior Demand Planner is responsible for owning end-to-end demand forecasting for an assigned region, acting as the primary forecast lead and cross-functional partner across commercial, operations, and supply chain teams. This person serves as a link between the sales, finance, and supply chain functions to ensure alignment between plans and will work to create and achieve consensus for forecasts through collaborative cross-functional planning processes. 

WHAT YOU DO 

  • Own demand planning for an assigned region, supporting the wider team including: 
  • Create and manage top-down and bottom-up finished goods wholesale and retail forecasts 
  • Lead regional forecast reviews with international and domestic commercial teams 
  • Lead forecasting process for HOURGLASS’ new product development, sampling, and gratis 
  • Own forecast accuracy metrics, analyzing variances and driving continuous improvement to minimize forecast error 
  • Contribute to the monthly S&OP process, aligning demand plans with supply and finance 
  • Support team members in training and development 
  • Compile monthly SKU-level global forecasts by retailer and region including: 
  • Work alongside local market teams to analyze retailer and product performance trends and variances to forecast 
  • Proactively partner with operations and supply chain teams to identify and close inventory gaps and mitigate overstock risk 
  • Consolidate and analyze data from various sources across retail sales, wholesale, and operational data 
  • Identify and initiate action in response to trends/issues 
  • Technology including: 
    • Serve as subject matter expert for Oracle Planning Cloud Demand Planning Tool 
    • Partner with Unilever Prestige IT and external partners on Planning Tool upgrades and maintenance 
    • Develop and implement processes to drive continuous improvement in demand planning 
  • Perform analysis and reporting including: 
    • Lead new product forecast creation and analysis for assigned region 
    • Prepare, maintain and publish reporting to monitor and assess performance 
    • Analyze and interpret sales results to drive future demand forecasting 
    • Produce and analyze ad-hoc and/or ongoing reporting as needed 
  • Coordinate, track, and communicate both allocations and gratis requests to support inventory for newness, events, and promotions 

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, finance, or related field 
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in demand planning or merchandise planning, retail or CPG experience preferred 
  • Strong Excel and analytical skills required; PowerBI and Oracle Planning Cloud experience preferred 
  • Strong track record of cross-functional influence and stakeholder alignment 
  • Thrive on solving problems and implementing creative solutions 
  • Must be highly organized and have strong attention to detail 
  • Passion for product, specifically cosmetics and skincare 
  • Creative, positive and high-energy individual with an ability to execute
  • Must be able to work from Corporate Office at least 60% of the time

The expected base salary range for this position is 90,000 to $100,000 per year. The exact base salary is determined by various factors including experience, skills, education, geographic location, and budget.

This position is also eligible for participation in the company discretionary bonus plan, based on personal performance and company results.
