You will be a part of a team rapidly designing and prototyping new features and ideas for current and next-generation MNTN products.

What You’ll Do:

  • Design, build, and evolve scalable design engineering solutions that improve product quality and user experience
  • Maintain and evolve the design and development of MNTN’s new cross-platform design system
  • Define long-term tooling, documentation standards, and contribution models
  • Implement responsive and accessible UI components using modern frontend technologies.
  • Champion the user experience and accessibility of our products, and help keep our quality bar as high as possible
  • Collaborate with and support designers to evolve our long-term product vision, design systems, and internal design collaboration process
  • Collaborate with engineers across multiple teams to establish best practices and improve workflow of component implementation
  • Create and maintain processes, tools, and reusable code patterns that enable efficient designer–engineer collaboration within the design system

What You’ll Bring:

  • 6+ years of experience in a design engineering role or similar, with a strong portfolio showcasing design and development projects
  • Proficiency in Figma and experience or curiosity in exploring emerging AI design tools (e.g. Cursor, V0, Claude, etc)
  • Excellent frontend skills with modern approaches (React, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, core/vanilla CSS) and a strong foundation in prototyping and implementation
  • Familiarity with ShadCN and Radix for building reusable UI components
  • A keen ability to articulate the rationale, process, and impact behind your design decisions and adapt to technical constraints in creative ways using your knowledge of web technologies
  • A high level of visual design skill and strong understanding of UX and UI principles.
  • Strong organizational skills and a love for documentation
  • A proactive individual that can self-start and prompt action or discussions on how to improve team dynamics or process within the context of their role
  • Fluent in design tokens and how they translate to design and engineers
  • Experience with interaction design
  • Report and work closely with the VP of Product design
Preferred Qualifications
  • Worked in startup environments where you were involved in the establishment of design systems
  • Knowledge of accessibility development practices
  • Working with telemetry to inform design and development decisions
  • Leveraging AI in your day-to-day workflow
