Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and manage on-premise infrastructure to support scalable and reliable applications.
- Perform capacity planning and scalability assessments to ensure infrastructure growth meets business requirements.
- Collaborate with software development teams to implement best practices for deployment and infrastructure management.
- Coordinate with IT and Network teams to ensure proper infrastructure setup, connectivity, and integration with other systems.
- Design and implement Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD) pipelines for on-prem applications.
- Ensure seamless integration between development, QA, and production environments.
- Continuously monitor and improve the performance of on-prem systems and applications.
- Research, evaluate, and integrate new technologies to enhance the functionality and performance of on-prem infrastructure.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience in DevOps, Infrastructure, or Linux Systems Engineering roles.
- Strong background in Linux systems administration and troubleshooting (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, or similar).
- Deep hands-on experience with Proxmox or another enterprise virtualization platform (e.g., VMware vSphere, KVM, Xen).
- Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Ansible, or similar).
- Comfortable working with container technologies such as Docker or Podman.
- Experience with CI/CD tooling (e.g., GitLab CI, Jenkins, Drone).
- Strong scripting skills (Bash, Python, or Ruby).
- Solid understanding of networking concepts and best practices in on-prem environments.
- Familiarity with managing physical infrastructure remotely (e.g., IPMI, iDRAC, iLO).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience managing on-prem Kubernetes clusters (or hybrid deployments).
- Familiar with automated OS provisioning tools (e.g., PXE boot, Kickstart, Cobbler).
- Experience with monitoring and alerting systems (Prometheus, Grafana, Zabbix, or similar).
- Experience with PostgreSQL or other relational databases from a systems perspective.
- Knowledge of backup, high-availability, and disaster recovery for virtualized infrastructure.
- Understanding of hardware lifecycle and virtual resource optimization in remote data center environments.
