Ellipsis Health is creating cutting-edge AI/ML products that solve healthcare staffing challenges and administrative burdens using conversational AI and our patented voice biomarker technology - helping deliver better healthcare for everyone.

We are currently looking for a seasoned DevSecOps engineer with significant experience in operating commercial-grade consumer-facing services, APIs, and web apps that leverage Machine Learning tools and LLM technologies. In this role you will work closely with the Engineering and Data teams to build, maintain, and extend a highly reliable, scalable, resilient, performant, and cost-effective production environment along with similar spaces for development and quality assurance.

Ellipsis Health is headquartered in San Francisco’s historic Financial District. This position is hybrid; Pacific Time is a must, and a local candidate (able to be present in the SF office most weeks) is preferred.

 
Responsibilities:
  • Build new Kubernetes clusters and update existing ones with new images

  • Build, maintain, and improve release management, CI/CD, and GitOps process and automation

  • Integrate SCA/SAST/DAST (Snyk) into CI/CD pipelines, automate git security MR flow

  • Build and enhance service monitoring with Datadog, OpenTelemetry, Prometheus

  • Configure and maintain automation for access control, audit logging, and other security and compliance-related goals

  • Develop robust backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity tools and processes

  • Help maintain 99.9% or higher availability SLA

  • Service cost modeling and ongoing cost optimization

 
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent

  • 7+ years of industry experience

  • Expert-level experience in deploying and operating services in Google Cloud, AWS, Azure, Docker, Kubernetes, IAM, Networking, Firewalls, Security Configurations, etc.

  • Solid DevOps experience, preferably with GitLab and GCP

  • Expertise in Infrastructure-as-a-Code using Terraform / Atlantis

  • Programming expertise in Python, shell scripting, TS, Node, Go, or similar

  • Experience with standard tools of the trade. For example, Argo, Git, Jira, Confluence, OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Datadog, PagerDuty, New Relic, etc.

 
Nice to Have:
  • Knowledge of FHIR, HL7, and HIPAA or other regulatory standards (e.g. SOC-2, HITRUST)

  • Experience with STT and TTS pipelines in the context of LLMs

 
Salary and Benefits

The typical salary range for this role is $160,000 to $250,000 USD, depending on skills, qualifications, and relevant experience.
