About the role

D-Wave is seeking a strategic and technically accomplished leader to join our Customer Team as Senior Director, Advanced Computing Business in the United States.

In this high-impact role, you will help drive customer success and revenue growth by guiding organizations through the adoption of advanced quantum systems. You will serve as a senior technical authority across the customer lifecycle, from early engagement through deployment and long-term partnership.

Reporting to the Vice President, Advanced Computing Business, you will collaborate closely with Sales, Product, and R&D to translate complex customer requirements into practical, scalable solutions. You will also play a key role in shaping future platform capabilities by bringing real-world customer insight back into the organization.

While experience in quantum computing is valuable, we welcome leaders with deep expertise in high-performance computing (HPC), advanced systems integration, AI/ML infrastructure, or scientific computing environments.

This is a highly visible role suited for someone who thrives at the intersection of technology, strategy, and customer impact.

Estimated travel for this role: 25% - 30%


What you'll do

  • Partner with customers to understand complex computational challenges and align solutions to their strategic objectives
  • Serve as a senior technical advisor across pre-sales, deployment, and post-sales engagement
  • Communicate product capabilities and long-term vision to both technical and executive stakeholders
  • Support complex technology evaluations and guide customers toward successful outcomes
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure customer requirements inform product evolution
  • Represent D-Wave at industry forums, customer briefings, and strategic engagements
  • Contribute technical insight that strengthens our go-to-market and solution strategy


About You

  • 15+ years in technical leadership roles such as solution engineering, systems delivery, advanced computing, product engineering, or technical sales
  • A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
  • Strong background in high-performance computing, advanced computational systems, AI/ML infrastructure, or related technologies
  • Deep understanding of hardware/software architectures and complex technical environments
  • Ability to translate sophisticated technical concepts into clear business value
  • Experience engaging with executive and technical stakeholders in complex organizations
  • A collaborative, customer-focused approach and a track record of building trusted relationships
