About Planned Parenthood Direct:

Planned Parenthood Direct (PPDirect) provides the virtual care infrastructure on behalf of Planned Parenthood, delivering trusted sexual and reproductive health care via the Planned Parenthood Direct web/mobile app and period tracking via the Spot On app. Our mission is to enable Planned Parenthood care from anywhere, ensuring accessible care for patients on the go. We partner directly with Planned Parenthood's regional affiliates, which operate Planned Parenthood's local health centers, to extend care beyond the clinic walls and to meet patient access needs nationwide.

About the Role:

The Senior Director of Clinical Operations is responsible for keeping PPDirect clinically excellent and ahead of where sexual and reproductive health care is going, and for making sure that every service PPDirect builds and every workflow it asks clinicians to follow is protocol-based, clinically sound, patient-centric, and clinician-centric. This role owns the strategy and execution behind PPDirect's clinical service expansion, from market and patient research through protocol design, launch, and post-launch monitoring, and is the connective tissue between PPDirect and Planned Parenthood's medical leadership across the federation.

This role partners closely with PPDirect's Chief Operating Officer to shape clinical strategy, leading the research and analysis that turn an open question into a clear, well-supported recommendation, and owning execution once a direction is set. It's built for someone who can do both: comfortable building a multi-year service expansion roadmap from a rough idea, and just as comfortable rolling up their sleeves to build the workflow, protocol, or operational model themselves.

This role is remote, with periodic travel for in-person team offsites, clinical forums, and affiliate relationship-building. Compensation: $160,000 - $180,000 annually based on experience.

What You'll Do:
  • Own the end-to-end clinical build of new services: from market and patient research through protocol design, workflow build, and post-launch monitoring, translating market and clinical inputs into a clear case for each service

  • Lead PPDirect's clinical service expansion strategy and pipeline, co-developed with the COO, and build a repeatable playbook so each launch builds on the last

  • Own compliance with Planned Parenthood's national clinical protocols and standards (MS&Gs) across every existing and new service, including the organization's periodic protocol review process

  • Lead PPDirect's clinical outcomes and quality measurement program, evolving how PPDirect measures and reports on care quality across the federation

  • Lead PPDirect's telehealth growth strategy from a clinical lens, building the operating model that gives affiliates and patients the most seamless, connected telehealth experience possible (staffing, workflow, and reimbursement considerations)

  • Build and maintain relationships with affiliate Chief Medical Officers, PPFA clinician leaders, and PPDirect's lead clinicians across the federation

  • Strengthen the clinical operations processes behind affiliate clinician licensing, scheduling, and onboarding, partnering with Affiliate Operations and Client Success, who own execution

  • Serve as PPDirect's internal clinical resource, fielding clinical questions and feedback surfaced through Customer Support and other internal teams

  • Partner closely with Product and Affiliate Operations to translate clinical workflows into shippable, affiliate-ready services

How You'll Do It:
  • Move fluidly between setting strategy and building it: define what's next and why, then build the workflow, protocol, or model to get it live.

  • Think through the market, clinical, and financial variables that shape a service decision, and turn that thinking into solid market sizing, forecasting, and expansion recommendations

  • Build trust and credibility with physician and clinical leadership across a complex, decentralized federation

  • Communicate clearly across clinical, product, and business audiences, and operate comfortably without direct authority over the teams you depend on

  • Stay comfortable in ambiguity, building structure and process where none exists yet

Who You Are:
  • Mission-centered and passionate about expanding access to essential sexual, reproductive, and whole-person health care

  • Direct clinical background (RN, NP, PA, or equivalent), ideally in sexual and reproductive health, OB/GYN, or an adjacent field (mental health, primary care); this is an operational and strategic role, not a direct patient care role

  • Experience developing new clinical services or protocols, with the analytical instincts to help shape market sizing and forecasting into a strong go/no-go case, even if you're not the one building the model yourself

  • Experience with regulatory or clinical standards frameworks, and keeping an organization compliant with them over time

  • Experience building operational or staffing models for a clinical team, including workflow/time-on-task analysis and reimbursement considerations

  • Prior startup, fast-growth, or transformation environment experience

Benefits and Perks:

In addition to a competitive salary that reflects your impact in the company, we offer:

  • Robust medical, dental, and vision plans plus FSA & HSA options for employees and dependents

  • 401K with company match

  • Generous time off and paid parental leave policies

  • Work from home and wellness reimbursements

  • Annual professional development stipend to support employee growth and advancement

  • Inclusive and collaborative team culture where every voice is valued
