Role Summary:

As Senior Director of Corporate Development at Pinterest, you will play a critical leadership role within the Business & Corporate Development team. Reporting to the VP, you will drive Pinterest’s inorganic growth strategy by identifying, evaluating, negotiating, and executing mergers & acquisitions, strategic investments, and partnerships to advance the company’s mission and growth objectives.

This leader should have expertise in translating strategic rationale for M&A transactions into executable plans and implementing go-to-market strategies to effectively integrate company acquisitions, realize synergies, track post-acquisition performance, and deliver on Return on Invested Capital (ROIC) in alignment with the Investment Thesis.

This is a highly visible role with regular engagement with the Pinterest Executive Team including the CEO, CFO, CRO, and CTO, and their respective teams.

What you'll do:

  • Partner with the VP to refine and communicate Pinterest’s corporate development strategy, ensuring alignment with company goals and product roadmaps.
  • Lead all phases of the M&A and strategic investment lifecycle, including industry landscape analysis, target identification, diligence, financial modeling, valuation, negotiations, and close.
  • Guide cross-functional teams in evaluating and executing deals.
  • Identify and develop relationships with target companies, entrepreneurs, VCs, and investment banks; track relevant trends/market intelligence.
  • Develop and present detailed investment memos and recommendations to the executive team and board.
  • Cultivate a high-performing, inclusive, and ethical team culture with a commitment to development and employee engagement.
  • Support ongoing improvement of deal processes, tools, and governance in partnership with the VP.
  • Maintain the highest levels of confidentiality, judgment, and alignment with Pinterest’s values.

What we're looking for:

  • 12+ years of experience in corporate development, strategic investments, or related roles, ideally within high-growth technology or consumer internet companies.
  • Demonstrated track record leading all phases of M&A transactions—from strategy and sourcing through execution and integration.
  • Deep analytical and financial modeling skills; comfort with complex valuation, deal structuring, and scenario analysis.
  • Proven ability to partner cross-functionally and influence senior leaders.
  • Strong communication skills: able to build trust, deliver compelling executive presentations, and navigate sensitive negotiations.
  • Experience leading and developing high-performing teams; people management experience preferred.
  • Integrity, sound judgment, and adherence to company values.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or other advanced degree preferred.

In-Office Requirement Statement:

  • We let the type of work you do guide the collaboration style. That means we're not always working in an office, but we continue to gather for key moments of collaboration and connection.
  • This role will need to be in the office for in-person collaboration 1-2 times per month.
