The Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and visionary Sr. Director of Engineering to lead our Operational Technology (OT) product team in Tel Aviv. This critical role involves overseeing a team of 25 talented engineers, driving the development and delivery of robust and secure OT solution as part of the Tenable platform.  This leader is instrumental in shaping the technical direction of our OT product, fostering a culture of excellence, and ensuring seamless collaboration across various departments within the enterprise.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Define and execute the technical roadmap for our OT product portfolio, aligning with overall business objectives and enterprise-wide strategies.

  • Team Management & Development: Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of 25 engineers, fostering their professional growth, setting clear performance expectations, and promoting a collaborative and high-performing environment.

  • Product Development & Delivery: Partner with the Sr. Director, OT Product Management to oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of the OT product; ensure the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and secure solutions.

  • Technical Excellence: Drive the adoption of best practices in software engineering, architecture, and security within the OT domain. Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve our product offerings.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with product management, operations, cybersecurity, and other engineering teams across the globe to ensure seamless integration and alignment of OT solutions with broader enterprise initiatives.

  • Stakeholder Communication: Effectively communicate technical strategies, progress, and challenges to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including executive leadership.

  • Budget & Resource Management: Manage budgets, allocate resources effectively, and make informed decisions to optimize team productivity and project delivery.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 15+ years of progressive experience in software engineering, with at least 8 years in a leadership role managing engineering teams, preferably within the Operational Technology (OT) or Industrial Control Systems (ICS) domain.

  • Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of OT/ICS protocols, systems, and architectures. Strong background in software development methodologies, cloud platforms, and cybersecurity principles.

  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop large engineering teams. Excellent organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills. Ability to attract and hire great senior engineers and managers, build high-performing teams, lead and mentor them, and make them successful.

  • Collaboration & Communication: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to build strong relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels across a global organization.

  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to translate business needs into technical strategies and execute on them effectively.

  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.

  • Location: Based in Tel Aviv, Israel, with a strong understanding of working within a US-based company culture and collaborating across time zones.
