About the Role

Strava is the app for active people. With over 150 million athletes in more than 185 countries, Strava is where connection, motivation, and personal bests thrive. No matter your activity, gear, or goals, we help you find your crew, crush your milestones, and keep moving forward. Start your journey with Strava today.

Our mission is simple: to motivate people to live their best active lives. We believe in the power of movement to connect and drive people forward.

We’re looking for a Sr. Director of Investor Relations to define and lead how the investment community understands Strava’s business, financial performance, growth potential and strategic vision. This is a highly visible, high-impact role for a proven financial communicator with exceptional judgment, strong capital markets fluency, and the ability to operate at speed.

As Strava’s voice to the financial community, you’ll develop and deliver a clear, consistent, and compelling financial narrative that earns confidence and sharpens market understanding of Strava’s opportunity. You’ll partner directly with the CFO, CEO, and other members of the executive team to position Strava as one of the most exciting growth-stage consumer technology businesses in the market. This role will be instrumental in building our credibility, broadening investor interest, and preparing Strava for future capital events.

Strava is re-defining the fitness category. As we expand our impact and scale our platform globally, this role is critical to ensuring that the financial community sees the full potential of what we’re building.

We follow a flexible hybrid model that translates to more than half of your time on-site in either our San Francisco or NYC, New York office — three days per week.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead all aspects of Strava’s investor relations strategy, crafting, and execution — establishing a disciplined, high-performing IR function that reflects the sophistication of our business
  • Own the development of a compelling, data-backed investor narrative that captures Strava’s growth, operating leverage, category leadership, and long-term business model potential
  • Cultivate strong, trusted relationships with current and prospective investors, analysts, bankers, and advisors—serving as a key representative of Strava in the financial community
  • Prepare executive leadership for earnings communications, investor meetings, conferences, board discussions, and potential IPO-readiness activities
  • Build and manage a regular cadence of high-quality investor communications—including quarterly updates, investor decks, Q&A prep, and related materials
  • Analyze peer performance, capital markets trends, and investor sentiment to keep our team ahead of the curve—and use those insights to shape strategy
  • Provide internal visibility into how we’re perceived in the market and ensure leadership alignment around messaging and positioning
  • Partner cross-functionally with Finance, Legal, Comms, Product, and Strategy to ensure consistency, compliance, and clarity in all public-facing materials
What You’ll Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree, at minimum, with 15+ years of experience in investor relations, equity research, investment banking, or strategic finance—ideally at a growth-stage technology company
  • A sharp and confident communicator with an exceptional ability to translate complex operating dynamics into a strategic, credible, and compelling investment thesis
  • Demonstrated track record of success in high-growth, high-stakes environments—particularly in the context of IPO readiness or public company reporting
  • Sophisticated understanding of financial statements, valuation, and capital markets dynamics
  • Executive presence, strong interpersonal skills, and the maturity to engage confidently with internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong project management skills, high attention to detail, and a bias for action
  • A clear and passionate belief in Strava’s mission—and the ability to articulate how that mission translates into durable economic value
  • A passion for Strava’s mission—and ideally, a personal connection sports, or to the health and wellness space
