Senior Director, Revenue Cycle Transformation & Epic StrategyPosition Summary

The Senior Director, Revenue Cycle Transformation & Epic Strategy provides executive leadership for revenue cycle optimization, Epic implementations, operational transformation, and strategic initiatives across healthcare organizations. This role serves as the bridge between operational leadership and IT, driving enterprise-wide initiatives that improve financial performance, enhance workflows, and support organizational growth.

The ideal candidate brings more than 13 years of Epic experience and extensive expertise in hospital billing, revenue cycle operations, program management, process improvement, and cross-functional leadership.

Key ResponsibilitiesRevenue Cycle Leadership
  • Lead enterprise revenue cycle transformation initiatives, including hospital billing, charge capture, revenue integrity, coding, patient access, reimbursement, and centralized business office operations.
  • Partner with executive leadership to identify opportunities for operational efficiency and financial improvement.
  • Develop and implement revenue cycle best practices and performance strategies.
Epic Implementation & Optimization
  • Direct Epic implementations, upgrades, acquisitions, and post-live optimization efforts.
  • Collaborate with operational leaders and IT teams to define requirements and establish system workflows.
  • Ensure successful integration of revenue cycle functions across hospitals and ambulatory settings.
  • Provide strategic oversight for charge capture, billing, and third-party system integrations.
Program & Project Leadership
  • Manage complex, multidisciplinary programs involving finance, legal, compliance, operations, clinical teams, and information technology.
  • Facilitate stakeholder alignment and executive decision-making.
  • Oversee project governance, risk mitigation, budgeting, and resource planning.
  • Drive change management and operational readiness initiatives.
Process Improvement & Innovation
  • Identify and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency and customer experience.
  • Lead Lean, Agile, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Create and standardize operational workflows and documentation.
  • Develop strategic roadmaps supporting long-term organizational objectives.
Team Leadership
  • Mentor and develop leaders and project teams.
  • Foster collaboration across business and technical departments.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.
QualificationsRequired
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 13+ years of Epic experience.
  • Epic Resolute Hospital Billing certification.
  • Extensive experience in revenue cycle operations and hospital billing.
  • Experience leading large-scale Epic implementations and optimization projects.
  • Program and project management expertise.
  • Strong communication and executive presentation skills.
Preferred
  • Experience with academic medical centers and multi-hospital health systems.
  • Agile and Lean methodologies.
  • Revenue Integrity and Charge Capture expertise.
  • Acquisition and integration experience.
  • Consulting experience.
