Job Description:

Senior Director, UI/UX — Enterprise, GenAI & Agentic Experience Design

Location: Palo Alto, CA

Reports to: Chief Product Officer

About Uniphore

Uniphore is one of the fastest-growing Enterprise GenAI companies—built-for-scale and designed for the enterprise. We drive business outcomes across multiple industry verticals and enable some of the largest global deployments.

At Uniphore, we are building the modern GenAI stack for the enterprise. That includes all required layers and capabilities: data, knowledge, agent model training, deployment, operationalization, and applications that act both as conduits for GenAI actions as well as sources of training data for our models.

Unlike mega-tech vendors who deal with decades of legacy code—or startups with no enterprise customer base—we are uniquely positioned to capitalize on the GenAI moment. As AI becomes more powerful, every part of the enterprise that impacts the customer will be disrupted. We believe the future will run on the connective tissue between people, machines, and data: all in the service of creating the most human processes and experiences for customers and employees.

Role Summary

We are seeking a visionary yet hands-on Senior Director of UI/UX to lead the design and front-end experience strategy for our next generation of enterprise products. This leader combines deep expertise in user experience, interaction design, visual design, and front-end development with a strong understanding of how GenAI and agentic systems will transform human–software interaction.

You will oversee the full design lifecycle—research, conceptualization, prototyping, execution, and delivery—while also rolling up your sleeves to design and build high-fidelity prototypes and front-end components. This role requires a rare blend of strategic product thinking and hands-on craft.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Strategy

  • Define and lead the end-to-end UX vision for enterprise applications, driving intuitive, scalable, high-performance experiences.

  • Develop the future-state design strategy for agentic and AI-driven workflows where AI systems proactively collaborate with users, automate tasks, and execute actions.

  • Partner with Product and Engineering leadership to shape the roadmap, ensuring that experience design is a core product differentiator.

  • Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing team of UX designers, UI designers, researchers, and front-end prototypers.

  • Establish and maintain a unified design system used across products, including accessibility, motion, interaction patterns, and component libraries.

Hands-On Design & Development

  • Personally produce high-fidelity UI designs, prototypes, interactive flows, and front-end components using modern frameworks (e.g., React, Vue, Angular).

  • Conduct hands-on usability evaluations, heuristic reviews, and design iteration cycles.

  • Create working prototypes for AI-driven interactions, conversational UI, agent dashboards, and automation flows.

  • Validate complex enterprise workflows with real users and data.

  • Translate ambiguous AI concepts into clear, usable, trustworthy user experiences.

Enterprise UX Expertise

  • Architect interactions for complex, data-rich enterprise systems, including dashboards, admin tools, workflow builders, and operational UIs.

  • Deep experience with user roles, permissions, governance, auditability, reliability, and enterprise trust requirements.

  • Work closely with customer-facing teams to understand friction points, map workflows, and modernize legacy user journeys.

GenAI & Agentic Experience Design

  • Design experiences where users co-work with AI agents that can reason, summarize, automate, and take action on behalf of users.

  • Create UX patterns for:

  • AI copilots and assistants

  • AI task automation flows

  • Multi-agent orchestration interfaces

  • Human-in-the-loop decision validation

  • AI explanations, transparency & trust signals

  • Partner with ML/AI engineering to ensure UI/UX integrates seamlessly with model behavior, constraints, and capabilities.

  • Shape UX that anticipates evolving human behaviors as AI undertakes more operational tasks.

Qualifications

Required

  • 12+ years of UI/UX experience, including 5+ years leading design teams.

  • Expert-level capability in interaction design, visual design, prototyping, and front-end development.

  • Portfolio demonstrating complex enterprise product design (SaaS, B2B, platforms, workflow tools).

  • Hands-on experience building prototypes with HTML/CSS/JS, and modern frameworks (React preferred).

  • Strong background in usability, accessibility, inclusive design, and design thinking methodologies.

  • Experience designing AI-driven or intelligent system interfaces.

Preferred

  • Experience with generative AI products, LLM-driven systems, or automation/agentic workflows.

  • Understanding of agent frameworks, event-driven architectures, or orchestration engines.

  • Demonstrated ability to translate technical constraints into elegant, usable design.

  • Strong storytelling and communication skills for executive audiences.

What Success Looks Like

  • Increased engagement, conversion, and satisfaction across key digital journeys.

  • Demonstrated adoption of shared frameworks and standards across teams.

  • Improved velocity and efficiency of campaign-to-experience delivery.

  • Tangible business outcomes (pipeline influence, partner satisfaction, digital reach).

  • Greater consistency, accessibility, and personalization across global experiences.

Skills and Experience

  • 12+ years of experience in design management both leading and building product design teams.

  • A proven ability to lead through complexity — guiding teams to deliver intuitive, data-informed experiences across multiple interconnected products.

  • Expertise in product systems, service design, and workflow automation

  • A strong understanding of data visualization, analytics, and predictive insights, and how they inform product experience.

  • Demonstrated impact on product strategy, user experience, and business outcomes in high-scale environments.

  • Experience working closely with Product, Engineering, and Data Science leaders to define vision, strategy, and metrics for success.

  • A track record of building inclusive, high-performing teams, and mentoring leaders to achieve their full potential

  • A passion for exploring how AI, automation, and design systems can increase efficiency and unlock creativity at scale.

  • Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to connect design vision to customer and business impact.

Why Join Uniphore

  • Opportunity to define and lead the next generation of real-time AI applications at an enterprise scale.

  • Work with some of the most advanced GenAI technologies in the world.
A collaborative, innovative culture that values creativity, experimentation, and customer success.

  • Competitive compensation, benefits, and global growth opportunities.
