About the Role
As the Senior Editor and Content Specialist, you will lead our mortgage and home lending content strategy. You are a seasoned editorial manager who balances high-quality storytelling with technical SEO precision and product collaboration. You will manage a team of staff and freelance writers, ensuring they produce world-class content that drives both user trust and business growth. In this role, you will act as an architect of the content lifecycle, leveraging modern AI tools to accelerate research and optimize editorial workflows while maintaining our strict standards for human-edited integrity.
Responsibilities
Identify and implement AI-driven efficiencies in day-to-day operations, replacing manual tracking tasks with automated or AI-assisted oversight.
Lead the strategic development of content and tool roadmaps for mortgages, refinancing, and home equity products.
Manage and coordinate the performance and results of a team of staff writers and a deep bench of freelance contributors.
Monitor and report on team performance against SEO and revenue targets, adapting departmental plans to meet quarterly goals.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, and Design to build and optimize tools that help users calculate wealth-building opportunities.
Exercise judgment in the responsible application of AI tools for internal strategy, ensuring all published output remains human-authored and meets Yahoo’s integrity standards.
Partner with compliance, legal, and business teams to map and execute growth strategies in an affiliate marketing environment.
Basic Qualifications
7+ years of editorial experience in personal finance, marketing, or journalism, with a specific focus on home lending.
Proven experience managing people or high-volume freelance workstreams
Expertise in utilizing AI tools (e.g., Gemini, ChatGPT Enterprise) for workflow acceleration.
A commitment to staying current on emerging AI editorial tools and proactively suggesting improvements to the content lifecycle.
Deep specialized knowledge of mortgages, refinancing, and the home-buying journey.
Advanced SEO expertise and experience using monitoring systems to track revenue and traffic metrics.
Experience operating in an affiliate marketing or commerce-driven content environment.
Strong empathetic leadership skills with a focus on coaching and people development.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with AI-driven diagnostics for content performance and technical SEO.
Experience working with high-growth financial products or fintech tools.

The compensation for this position ranges from $90,750.00 - $188,750.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience.The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions.
