At Relativity Space, we’re building rockets to serve today’s needs and tomorrow’s breakthroughs. Our Terran R vehicle will deliver customer payloads to orbit, meeting the growing demand for launch capacity. But that’s just the start. Achieving commercial success with Terran R will unlock new opportunities to advance science, exploration, and innovation, pioneering progress that reaches beyond the known.

Joining Relativity means becoming part of something where autonomy, ownership, and impact exist at every level. Here, you're not just executing tasks; you're solving problems that haven’t been solved before, helping develop a rocket, a factory, and a business from the ground up. Whether you’re in propulsion, manufacturing, software, avionics, or a corporate function, you’ll collaborate across teams, shape decisions, and see your work come to life in record time. Relativity is a place where creativity and technical rigor go hand in hand, and your voice will help define the stories we’re writing together. Now is a unique moment in time where it’s early enough to leave your mark on the product, the process, and the culture, but far enough along that Terran R is tangible and picking up momentum. The most meaningful work of your career is waiting. Join us.

About the Team:

The EHS team carries a profound responsibility to keep people and the environments where we operate safe while we build the future. We're not here to slow things down; we're here to enable safe speed. At this stage in Relativity’s trajectory, you'll have the rare opportunity to shape how EHS is embedded in every process and decision, from the factory floor to the launch pad. We have a voice at every level, and we use it to build a culture where EHS isn’t just about compliance, but rather a shared responsibility amongst all employees.

About the Role:

  • Serve as the primary EHS specialist embedded with engineering, operations and EHS teams on electrical safety.
  • Act as an electrical safety authority, review Electrical Hazard Analyses (EHAs) and approve Work Permits.
  • Conduct electrical safety reviews of DC high voltage system hardware and process designs and provide safety requirements and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Identify, assess, and analyze potential DC electrical safety hazards, risks and controls for high voltage assets and processes.
  • Actively participate in design and test readiness review meetings with engineering and operations stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement risk reduction strategies to minimize incidents and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Manage consistent communication with internal and external stakeholders including engineering teams, operational teams, EHS teams and vendors to achieve and implement electrical safety goals.
  • Monitor and implement compliance with applicable electrical safety regulations, industry standards, and internal company policies.
  • Conduct safety audits, inspections, incident investigations and providing actionable recommendations.
  • Balance time between program development and on-site support of live processes and issues.
  • Developing and delivering safety training specifically to electrical and high voltage systems.
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and maintenance teams to ensure safe project execution.

About You:

  • Bachelor’s degree in safety, Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and/or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of progressive EHS experience, including electrical safety in development, laboratory, or new product introduction environment.
  • 1+ years of experience in lithium-ion battery safety.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, NEC, NFPA 70E, ASME, DOE-HDBK-1092-2013 and related safety standards.
  • Proven experience conducting risk assessments, hazard analysis, and incident investigations in complex technical environments.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
  • Hands-on, proactive problem solver who thrives in the field and collaborates effectively across teams.
  • Relevant certifications preferred: CSP, CHST, or OSHA 30/General Industry

Nice to haves but not required:

  • Experience in the aerospace or EV industry
  • Ability to develop and deliver specialized safety training for technical teams.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and time-management skills.
