The Role

Riot is expanding our footprint into hyperscale data centers for AI and HPC clients, and we’re looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to help shape the future of digital infrastructure.  This is your chance to work on cutting-edge projects at the intersection of energy, data, and innovation—alongside a team that’s redefining what’s possible in the digital age. 


As our Senior Electrical Engineer, you’ll be the technical authority for power systems across Riot’s hyperscale data centers. You’ll lead design standards, review consultant deliverables, and ensure world-class reliability for mission-critical workloads. 


This position will be based in our Denver office. Relocation assistance available

Travel up to 25% for site visits, consultant meetings, and technical assessments 


What You'll Do

  • Set and enforce electrical design standards and specifications 
  • Review and approve consultant and contractor electrical designs 
  • Oversee UPS systems, generators, switchgear, and distribution 
  • Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA, IEEE, and industry best practices 
  • Lead QA/QC protocols and technical audits 
  • Approve commissioning plans and test procedures 
  • Mentor engineers and represent electrical discipline in executive forums 


What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering (P.E. preferred) 
  • 8+ years in electrical engineering, ideally with experience in mission-critical facilities (data centers, hospitals, manufacturing plants, or other high-reliability environments) 
  • Proven experience managing $50M+ projects and consultant relationships 
  • Deep expertise in UPS systems, backup generators, switchgear, and PDUs 
  • Strong command of NEC, NFPA 70E, IEEE codes and standards 
  • Advanced proficiency in ETAP or SKM PowerTools 
  • Experience with AI deployments and LTC (liquid to chip) cooling is a plus, but not required 


Compensation and Benefits 

  • Competitive Salary: $140K–$180K (commensurate with experience) + bonus + sign-on equity grant.
