Senior Electrical Engineer - Embedded Systems
SharkNinja | Needham, MA
About SharkNinja
At SharkNinja, we build products that people reach for every single day. Our purpose is simple: positively impact lives in every home around the world. We do that through relentless innovation, obsessive attention to quality, and a team culture where every voice matters. If you're someone who wants to build the next big thing - and grow while doing it - you'll fit right in.
About the Role
This is a hands-on technical leadership role for a senior engineer who wants real ownership. You'll drive embedded electronics design - hardware and firmware - across the full product development lifecycle, from early concept through production. You won't be inheriting someone else's architecture. You'll define it.
You'll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams globally (US, China, and beyond), work directly with contract manufacturers, and be the go-to technical authority on electrical and firmware decisions for your programs.
What You'll Do
  • Lead embedded electronic design from concept to production - schematic capture, PCB layout, firmware (C/ASM), and everything in between
  • Define product electrical and firmware architecture as the technical foundation for global teams and contract manufacturing partners
  • Coordinate day-to-day engineering tasks to hit prototype milestones for internal reviews and research programs
  • Partner with Engineering and Product Marketing to develop EBOM cost estimates and assess work effort for new initiatives
  • Own compliance - work with the compliance team to ensure products meet global certification standards for consumer electronics
  • Develop clear, thorough hardware and firmware specifications and documentation
  • Lead EMI/EMC and compliance issue resolution through rigorous root cause analysis
  • Report program status to global EE leadership and contribute to organizational goal-setting
  • Mentor junior engineers and help raise the technical bar across the team

What You'll Bring
Required:
  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years in embedded hardware and firmware design, with full product development cycles under your belt
  • Proven ability to design electronics from scratch - not just adapt existing designs
  • Experience in component selection, system architecture, design verification, and documentation
  • Firmware development for microcontrollers: design, test, and debug
  • Familiarity with DFM, DFT, and reliability principles
  • EMI/EMC troubleshooting and compliance resolution experience
  • Strong communicator - comfortable presenting technical decisions to cross-functional and global audiences
  • Self-directed, with the ability to manage your own priorities in a fast-moving environment

Nice to Have:
  • Consumer product or consumer goods consulting experience
  • Familiarity with compilers, IDEs, JIRA, and SVN
  • Experience working within distributed, multi-site engineering teams

Why SharkNinja
We move fast. We build things people actually use. And we take pride in hiring people who are better than the last hire - which means you'll be surrounded by engineers who push you. If you want a role where you can leave your fingerprints on products used by millions, this is it.
