Forward Deployed Software Engineers (FDSEs) are embedded technical partners to high-stakes enterprise clients. In pharma engagements, they work directly with clinical, medical affairs, and R&D teams to build data-driven solutions on our Medical and Clinical Products platforms. FDSEs operate like startup CTOs: owning end-to-end technical delivery, adapting to evolving problems, and translating between business and data domains.

WHAT YOU'LL DO AT H1
As a Senior Forward Deployed Software Engineer, you’ll demonstrate how to drive enterprise SaaS adoption through embedded engineering. You’ll operate in a multi-segment, pharma-focused capacity, leading full-stack delivery, deeply integrating with clients, and providing technical leadership through software engineering.

You will:
- Act as a trusted technical partner to pharma clients, translating business needs into scalable, maintainable solutions
- Dive deep into H1’s data and SaaS architecture to build, deploy, and optimize full-stack applications
- Ingest, model, and integrate complex enterprise data (e.g., claims, clinical trials, provider records) at scale
- Own full-stack responsibilities, from data modeling to UI, delivering and iterating live solutions within client environments
- Partner with client executives and non-technical stakeholders to shape project scope, estimate effort, incorporate feedback, and deliver outcomes in collaboration with Product and Engagement teams
- Operate autonomously within small teams, influencing architectural and delivery standards with direct client impact

ABOUT YOU
- Comfortable navigating technical and non-technical audiences in fast-moving, ambiguous settings. You value collaboration, iterative problem-solving, and constructive feedback.
- Have the grit to own an engagement end-to-end, from discovery to delivery, with a mindset similar to a founder or technical lead.
- A pragmatic builder with a rigorous analytical approach, especially around large-scale data operations. - You’re hands-on and code-first, with a systems-level understanding of how pieces fit together.

REQUIREMENTS
- 6+ years of full-stack engineering experience, including direct collaboration with enterprise clients and cross-functional teams
- Familiarity with JavaScript and backend technologies such as SQL (PostgreSQL preferred), along with strong programming skills in Python
- Hands-on experience with data platforms and pipeline tools in an AWS environment, including Airflow, AWS EMR, EKS, and custom ETL workflows
- Proven ability to mentor peers or lead small teams while remaining deeply hands-on
- Familiarity with Salesforce data models and GTM workflows (e.g., leads, accounts, opportunities, activities) to design solutions that support client-specific use cases

COMPENSATION
This role pays $130,000 to $155,000 per year, based on experience, in addition to stock options.

Anticipated role close date: 6/28/2026

H1 OFFERS
- Full suite of health insurance options, in addition to generous paid time off
