Senior Front-End Engineer (React)

MUST BE BASED IN THE NYC, No Relocation

Hatch is expanding rapidly, and we’re looking for a Front-End Engineer to help us build and scale our web applications. This is a high-impact role where you’ll work closely with product and engineering teams to deliver seamless, high-performance user experiences. If you have deep React expertise, thrive in fast-paced SaaS environments, and love solving complex UI challenges, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop & Optimize Scalable UIs – Build and maintain high-performance front-end applications using React, TypeScript, and Next.js

  • Component Architecture – Design and develop reusable UI components to enhance scalability and maintainability

  • State Management – Implement efficient state management solutions using Redux, Recoil, or Context API

  • API Integration – Work closely with backend engineers to integrate RESTful and GraphQL APIs

  • Performance & Optimization – Ensure fast load times and smooth rendering by optimizing bundle size, lazy loading, and caching strategies

  • Responsive & Accessible Design – Implement mobile-first, responsive UIs while adhering to WCAG accessibility standards

  • Testing & Code Quality – Write unit and integration tests using Jest, React Testing Library, or Cypress

Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of front-end development experience in a SaaS or startup environment

  • Expertise in React, TypeScript, JavaScript (ES6+), and modern front-end frameworks

  • Strong experience with CSS-in-JS libraries (Styled Components, Emotion, or Tailwind CSS)

  • Familiarity with Next.js, Webpack, and front-end build tools

  • Experience with Git-based workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and agile methodologies

  • Strong understanding of cross-browser compatibility, accessibility, and front-end security best practices

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with GraphQL and Apollo Client

  • Familiarity with server-side rendering (SSR) and static site generation (SSG) using Next.js

  • Prior experience working with Figma or similar design tools for UI implementation

  • Understanding of backend-for-frontend (BFF) architectures
