You’ll own the full development lifecycle, building RESTful APIs, integrating front-end and back-end systems, and implementing secure, data-driven features. Collaborating with cross-functional teams (product, design, talent, marketing), you’ll drive technical excellence, mentor a small team of engineers, and contribute to architectural decisions. This role demands deep expertise in Node.js, React, and cloud platforms (GCP, AWS), along with a proactive mindset to innovate in the creator economy.

Key Responsibilities
  • End-to-End Development: Design, develop, and maintain scalable server-side applications using Node.js and dynamic front-end interfaces using React, ensuring seamless integration across the stack.

  • API Design and Integration: Architect and implement robust RESTful APIs and microservices to support front-end services, creator workflows, and brand integrations, optimizing for performance and reliability.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with product managers, designers, and talent teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions, ensuring alignment with Pearpop’s creator-centric vision.

  • Performance Optimization: Optimize applications for maximum speed, scalability, and reliability, leveraging cloud platforms (GCP, AWS) to handle high-volume creator and brand interactions.

  • Security and Data Protection: Implement advanced security measures (e.g., authentication via Gravitee, encryption) and data protection protocols to safeguard user and creator data.

  • Technical Leadership: Mentor junior engineers, lead code reviews, and enforce best practices to ensure high code quality, maintainability, and adherence to Pearpop’s standards.

  • Troubleshooting and Debugging: Proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical issues across front-end and back-end systems, ensuring optimal platform performance.

  • Infrastructure and DevOps: Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation), and containerization (Docker) to streamline deployment and scalability.

  • Innovation and Trends: Stay ahead of industry trends in full-stack development, cloud technologies, and creator economy platforms, integrating cutting-edge solutions to enhance Pearpop’s offerings.

  • Project Ownership: Take ownership of critical projects, from ideation to deployment, driving technical strategy and delivering measurable impact on platform growth.

Requirements
  • Experience: 7+ years in full-stack development, with 5+ years focused on Node.js for back-end and React (or similar frameworks like Vue.js) for front-end in high-growth tech or media companies.

  • Technical Expertise:

    • Advanced proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, and Node.js frameworks (e.g., Express).

    • Strong experience with React for building dynamic, responsive user interfaces.

    • Expertise in designing and implementing RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.

    • Proficiency with database systems (MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB) and ORMs like Sequelize.

    • Deep knowledge of version control systems (Git, GitHub) and branching strategies.

  • Cloud and DevOps: Extensive experience with cloud platforms (Google Cloud Platform, AWS) and containerization technologies (Docker), with proficiency in CI/CD pipelines and IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, GitHub Actions).

  • Security: Experience implementing authentication systems (e.g., Gravitee, OAuth) and data protection measures to ensure platform security.

  • Front-End Knowledge: Strong understanding of front-end technologies (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript frameworks), with the ability to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.

  • Leadership: Proven ability to mentor engineers, lead technical initiatives, and drive cross-functional collaboration in fast-paced environments.

  • Problem-Solving: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a track record of resolving complex technical challenges independently and collaboratively.

  • Cultural Fit: Passion for social media, internet culture, and the creator economy, with a collaborative, innovative, and savvy mindset.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Developer, Google Cloud Professional) preferred but not required.

Preferred Skills
  • Experience leading full-stack projects in creator economy, media, or social media platforms.

  • Proficiency in advanced front-end frameworks (e.g., Next.js, Vue.js) and state management (Redux, Context API).

  • Knowledge of performance monitoring tools (e.g., New Relic, Datadog) and observability practices.

  • Familiarity with GraphQL for flexible API development.

  • Experience with agile methodologies and project management tools (e.g., Jira, Asana).

  • Strong communication skills to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Why Pearpop?
  • Impactful Role: Shape the technical backbone of Pearpop’s creator platform, driving innovation in the $250B creator economy.

  • Innovative Culture: Thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced startup led by a Forbes 30 Under 30 CEO, leveraging cutting-edge tech (GCP, Salesforce, AI-driven insights) to redefine creator partnerships.
